We all know this works with moss. Ferns like similar conditions as moss, so I wonder if blending up fern rhizomes and mixing with yoghurt could produce similar results. Does anyone know?
It think it depends on how fine you blend it. You can cut the rhizome of a fern in pieces, as long as a piece has at least one leave and a root it will grow. Any smaller, I don't know... Try it!
I'd guess not if you blended them. Moss is a lot smaller in structure you only need a tiny bit and it's still moss. Shredding a leaf/rhizome might work. I've noticed 'dead' javafern leaves develop tiny new plants, but usually only one, so if you split them with a 'spot' on each piece maybe each piece would develop a plant?
