My experience with Apisto Nijsseni is that they are very aggressive, particularly the female. Mine continually harassed corydoras and tetras whenever they came near. I'd advise against them in a community. Rams are a much calmer choice, as are Apisto Agassizii in my experience........

Thanks for your responses, I'll get some and give it a test as there seems to be plenty of shrimpers having success with it. I'll be sure to give it a good bodging first!

I put 3 rocks(mini landscape rocks) in a 40l and shrimp were dropping within a week, my fault i should of checked! I'd leave it out, you've only got to miss a waterchange and the clocks ticking.... If anyone has other suggestions for inert rock ideas welcome.

Agree with the above, plants will grow better as they are not restricted by the pot, and you won't have an ugly plant pot in your tank!

Hi, anyone using Dragon Stone in a CRS tank? If so does it affect TDS levels? I briefly tried mini landscape rock/seiryu stone but quickly realised it raises TDS, which is a shame as it looks great...... Thanks in advance! Glen.

Nice shots, what camera are you using? Have you had baby shrimps from the snow whites yet? I wonder if you'll get any CRS babies from them......

Looking good, growing in nice! In my experience an Otto or 2 will definitely help clear up the brown algae..... I had helferi do a similar thing in my tank, grew tall and shed leaves from the bottom, not sure why, mine was fairly low tech so could've been anything.... I ended up taking it out.....

Nice tank, like the foam wall idea might have to copy that! Cracking fish can't recall ever seeing these in any shops.......

I like the battery timer fish feeders when i'm away, fill with food, set when you want to feed and adjust output level, fairly easy and reliable. Although for the most part up to a week is fine with no food, if they've been fed up before.....

I agree not a 'high quality SSS mosura' maybe a low grade SSS mosura... At a tenner a go I'd be pretty disappointed..... The grading refers to pattern not colour intensity, so can be misleading, but if they were sold as high quality/grade i'd expect better!

Try the planet catfish website lots of expert catfish knowledge over there, I'm sure someone will know more about it.......

I'm running a 2075 model and so far have only good to say about it. Primer works well, flow rate doesn't drop off like the older eheims seemed to do, and loads of media capacity..... Of course if it were to leak all my praise would go out of the window!

Seiryu stone will definitely raise TDS. If your planning to keep crystal red shrimp then i would think about swapping the rocks for something inert. Cherry shrimp and there variations will probably be ok.

Get some pics of your shrimps up, lets see the quality you get for a tenner.......

Echoing the above Aqua Essentials are easily the best I have used, big healthy plants, great prices and quick delivery. After trying a few other places and being disappointed, since finding AE I will always try to use them if they have what I want...
