    Growing Lilaeopsis NZ (HELP needed)

Hello. I run a RIO 180 with T5 lighting and am growing Lileaopsis NZ. I am low tech (no co2), I cover one bulb entirely with an upturned reflector so effectively only use one bulb, 5.5 hour photo-period. You can rule out 'lack of light' as a factor! I have good flow which I think really helps...

    lilaeopsis

My Lilaeopsis NZ sat and did virtually nothing for about 6 months after I planted it. It was only after this settling in period that it started growing, albeit still slowly. (low tech tank here) On a side note it is really easy to propagate it a on a windowsill and grows quickly in this...

    ludwigia repens not growing

Hi Island, I agree with hoggie, it took my repens a long time (4 months) to get settled into my liquid co2 tank, it dropped almost all of it's leaves for me but now is bouncing back and looking pretty healthy. It didn't help that I was constantly replanting and moving it about as I think...

    True low tech carpet plant....

Thanks Iain, I think I'll give this a go in my low(ish) tech. At the moment I have lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae , it looks good but it is a very slow grower! (only 1-2mm on each blade leaf per month).

Does anyone know how well it roots and sends out runners in gravel as opposed to amazonia / nutrasoil ?

    Growing Mosses

I'm having troubles with this method and 'peacock moss'. The central stems of peacock moss seem to be more brittle than other species of moss. I am as delicate as possible when doing the daily water change, but the moss seems to be degrading in quality slightly as time goes on. Bits seem to be...

    Eleocharis sp mini dying

Thanks Ady. I have considered Easy Carbo but would like to find a balance where it isn't necessary. I don't mind slow growing plants, I do mind dead plants!

    Eleocharis sp mini dying

This thread is interesting, I intend to buy some Eleo sp mini, but having it in a low-tech tank with even less lighting than justjason88 (0.8WPG). This plant says it is suitable for low light conditions, but if the shock of going straight to no co2 and low light is too much and it's killing the...
