Hi everyone, Does anyone know of a powerhead pump that is somewhat safe for shrimps (cherry)? Ive noticed thread algae always crops up in the same place and it must be due to low flow. I have a Koralia1 somewhere from back in the day but I never used it for a tank with cherry shrimp. Thanks!

I can't speak for the EFX 600 but my EFX 300 is brilliant. Best filter I've ever had. Quiet too. Only other cause of noise could be a poorly seated propeller in the filter head.

I bought the 1000lph compact. Also bought 16/22mm Eheim pipe 2metres to go with it. Water changes are very simple now. I'll put the pump in the tank, plug it in and the water will drain down a drain or down the bath plug whole. To fill up, I have a 40litre container which I fill up with buckets...

Nice to hear from you, George. That's some flow, can't wait to see it all (especailly the new lighting system). I have a Superfish Pro 1. That one is rated at 600lph, although doesn't look like it.... You don't see many of these filters being used, glad you've opted for one :)

Also have a compact. Use it for water changes. Simple and does the job well. Like Sam said, it's Eheim which really says it all.

I'd personally go for bio-balls for hosting bacteria and also purigen.
