Yes, you can use sessiflora....one of the reasons I like to use this method is the stems don't get pushed around the surface as much as floating plants do!

If you are running Co2 I would dose ferts! It's primarily to combat thread algae as this particular algae can be a pain to eradicate. Just put the fast-growing plants on the surface....you can always take cuttings and add them to the substrate....then remove them later!

Reduce your lighting to 6 hours and implement the Tutorial below. Fertilizers don't cause algae, too much light and poor water quality are two causes. Remove dead or dying plant matter as this only clouds the water more...

Sure you ordered the correct size 6mm is the push-in end and the 4mm stem goes into the tubing! Or they could have sent you the wrong order? Do you still have the bag the reducers came inside? I think you have a 4mm x 6mm......which is the wrong way around!

Probably, I use floating plants as an indication of Nitrate deficiencies...I just add a few drops of Solo N if needed! My aquariums aren't that large so those little 50ml bottles suit me!

I use Solo Nitrate a fair bit when using RO! On odd times I use Vimi Solo Phosphate/Potassium.

Hi Just make up 250ml of stock solution of Micro Fertilizer! The vessel weights 3g. That's about 1 level teaspoon of Micro/Trace powder per 250ml of water. hoggie

Off the top of my head....I think Micro mix is about 6 grams...... I teaspoon!!

I would be careful with Steam Iron Water as it may have perfume in it! De-ionsed water for cars will be okay!

I dose just before I switch the lights on! Glut is a substitute for injected Co2.......so cant see the point dosing when its dark! Plus it takes 24 hours to break down!

Containers are easily mixed up....especially if not marked up on both the lid and the bottom half of the vessel. Your KNO3 could be another fertilizer...very similar in colour texture.....KNO3 has a blue cheesy smell to it I've read in the below article by Clive...

This recipe Spezial N - Nitrogen Fertilizer advised to be used at pH below 7. Considering most tap-water is above that pH.....before injecting Co2 is there any real benefits? What would the consequences be if dosed regularly at pH 7.5 say with fish/shrimp in the aquarium?
