Hi
I'm using it on a slow growing planted tank....so can't vouch for growing carpet plants as this light is situated at the back of the hood!
It's pretty bright at the back of the aquarium on full power.
No fish in this aquarium;)
As Mat stated the legs should be to the left of the aquarium glass rim!
The only thing I can think of is to purchase some black perspex/black silicone and fit it into the leg holders for a snug fit against the glass!
Hi Team
As we all know the lighting unit in the hood is not up too much.
In my case, I think the one in my hood is nearing its end of life as the Blue LED will not switch off sometimes.
I've started rescaping this aquarium "more on that later"...therefore this was an ideal time to fit a new...
This video shows you how to fit the lighting tube....obviously you won't be using the old ballast as this light comes with its own power supply!

Replacement below the 90cm?

Nearly costs as much as the light unit.....plus it has a horrible European plug thingy!!!
Which is one of the reasons Tim and I switched to this Amazon purchase.
Some websites say its 16 Watts others 20 Watts!
So what the other members @oreo57 @dino21 are saying is best to use 32 Watts 12 volt 2amp PSU unit I think
@dino21
Thanks for the reply and the explanation!
The original PSU plug ran hot on the 30B 2....the one from Amazon seems to be a lot cooler or I might just be imagining it!
The 30B 2 it's a tad on the small size only 27cm for a 40CM tank...as you say probably better with the 45B 2 and try to...

Can anyone tell me the best method to change this to accept a 3 pin UK plug!
It has similar as below that is removable from the adapter!
Cheers

The cable is of poor quality....mines split just below the skimmer body, exposing the inner wires!
Obviously it went in the bin pronto!
I only noticed this because I had removed it from the tank.
Everyone should check all cables of all electrical Skimmers as these tend to have a bend in...
Hi
Most aquatic plants are grown emersed, some species are quicker than others to transform into their submerged state!
It's usually a gradual process could be days, weeks just depends on the individual plants in the aquarium.
Rotala rotundifolia is a good example...in its marsh form, it has...
Hi
Purchase some fast-growing stem plants which will help cycle and build up beneficial bacteria, then test for ammonia every week before and after water changes!
Meant to say you may have to pack the skimmer with filter wool, as the flow may be a tad high for a 20 litre aquarium!
Cheers

Hi
I wouldn't bother with adding ammonium chloride!
Just purchase very fast growing stem plants like

Hi
I don't think that's the correct plug convertor!
You require a Schuko type...look at the above link.;)
As below

Hi Chris
Why don't you try and grow the Monte Carlo carpet, with the DSM method.... in the tank!
Or use a small window sill propagator, to increase the yield and replant into the aquarium.
Have a look below!

Hi
If you have a spare tank or plastic tub you can leave them in pots with about 2 inches of water for a few weeks!
Cover with Cling Film to keep moisture up as you would DSM/MSM mode!
Spray the plants leaves with fresh water twice a day and change the water every couple of days!

My mistake....A150W your correct Zeus!
I have this version also....the fan is a tad noisy but I did get use to it, although the aquarium was in the hallway!;)
Indeed..... I have both the Kessil A160WE & Radion XR15FW........Radion is pretty noiseless!
The old version Kessil...A160 was slightly noisy...the new version is pretty quite!

Hi George

Hi Stuart
I think its best to send back and ask for a free repair!....that's what I would do!
If you try a repair and mess it up, the warranty will be nil and void!.......:(
You will encounter postage fees....probably about £2.80 for a standard parcel!
Although this will increase if you want...
Hi
You don't say which substrate you will be using?
Elatine hydropiper, Hemianthus Callitrichoides.
Are two of the more difficult carpet plants to cultivate if your not experienced with them..... you could try growing them on in a Dry Start Method!
This may give you a heads up....on growth rates...

Hi Mort

Do the sell these on Amazon/Ebay?
Thanks for the reply.

Hi Brad
I would go easy on changing the lighting straight away!
Use the t8s for 3 or 4 months and grow some healthy easy plants first!
Lighting causes a lot of the algae issues on this forum.
Brighter lighting drives Co2 uptake, so if you don't get the Co2 flow/circulation spot on you can have...
Hi
There is a newer dimmable version of this light....not cheap but has great shimmer!
Plus the fan is hardly audible!

Hi
If you have a look on Amazon there is various led desk lamps...with multiple features!
I'm sure the below would run from a timer as it has a mains plug stated in the caption!
It maybe a tad too long 40cm though!
