This happened to me a year ago with the same filter and it was a nightmare to solve. Had to take the whole thing apart and replace the part. And now it’s just happened again! It’s obvious that this part it not fit for purpose. Eheim need to redesign this part as it’s obviously been happening...

I was wondering about how strong the skimmer is. Would be nice if you could adjust the balance between skimmer and main inlet. Any other options around? The looks pretty good but no heater and quite large for a 30cm cube. Thanks

My main concern is surface film. I always get this on my tanks and I don’t see that I can deal with it, without an overflow or skimmer type inlet on the filter.

Hi all, Looking for: Internal filter Overflow / skimmer inlet Space for biological filter media Built in heater / space for heater (bonus) Hooks onto glass edge, as suction cups are CRAP. For use with 30cm planted cube.

What filter? Dunk it into the water first - breaks surface tension. Is it not adjustable- the ratio of surface vs lower suction?

Also, I have the same size tank and I have a Koralia Nano 900, which produces TONS of flow. Any more would be too much IMO.

BTW 60x30x30 = 54 liters / 14 US Gallons / 12 Imperial Gallons. ATD ;)

I should clean my filter once a month, but it ends up being about once every three months, which is generally spurred on by the fact that I can't stand to look at that filthy algae covered lily pipe any longer! So I disconnect the lot and clean. Oh and the only media I replace is the fine white...

In regards to the filter, assuming it's all properly clean and nothing is trapped in it, there's only one moving part - the impeller. Replacing this would make it silent I'd imagine.

I'd hope so with 4 filters ;)

Any news? I want to do this on my Power Men outlflow to make it like the ADA P2.

Sorry to p*ss in everyone's chips :shock: but I always say you get what you pay for. That's why Eheim are so reassuringly expensive! :wink:

My opinion is I'd be scared of being electrocuted or burning the house down at that price! Of course I could be totally wrong!

Hi, I am going to buy an optiwhite 60x30x36H soon, and need an upgrade from my Eheim 2322. Would I be able to connect the 2074 to my 12mm lily pipes? I think the 2074 uses 16mm tubing (?) but I could use an adapter right? Also I probably wouldn't run the filter on 100% flow rate, more like...

I got some Powermen ones from ebay, came from Hong Kong. Where about 25-30 quid inc postage - much cheaper than UK, and they work well and look great, although I did manage to break the intake trying to get the flipping tubing off to clean it, though I blame that on impatience/cheapo tubing.

The 2322 doesn't have a 'probe' everything is encased within the filter box itself! Fantastic filter on all accounts, as well as the 2324.

Okay, well they didn't reduce flow on my Eheim 2322 Professional 2 Thermo, so I suppose the model mentioned above is a bigger filter with higher flow capacity. Wouldn't it be possible to cut more slits in the in-take though? That's how they make them anyway. To add to this, one thing I liked...

They are by a company called Power Men. They do the 'vortex' thing, and they don't restrict the flow at all. Much better than ADA's horrifically priced silly pipes! Glass is thin (same as ADA), though surprisingly robust! 10/10 from me :)
