+1 cheap black lava rock handcarved to your imagination. Done it before with great result with just a screwdriver. Even if you dont get a huge piece it is possible to combine several average ones.
Of course you can pay 10 times more for it to have a name UNZAN and a MANUAL :dead:
A rock with a...
I had some unipacs petriffied in no co2 shrimp nano with Ebi soil. It did not affect the TDS. Dont know about high tech tank but will find out very soon. Love this rock but it does look very different than on picture.
This work is interesting but is similar to last years winning work and it really hurts my eyes when i look at it :)
The hobby has proggressed so fast, look at the 2005-2006 for example. Almost any of todays Top 200 could have won you grand prize back then. Amazing.
Hard decision to choose the...
The names are written over the tanks Nathaniel. It has to be new catalog. Cover picture is also from Marks tank.
There are also Dans, Tonys and my tanks featured together with the videos online. Whole thing happened thanks to Mark.
Well basically all has been done already :) Its very difficult to make something completely new now. I like 95 very much because of that void in front. I have been thinking about this idea very long time. Damn its executed now :)
Will probably vote for that one. Other than that it is very...
Congrats Victor. I will edit the post where i revealed mine  But anyway other tanks get recognised by members.
Its an odd system this year. Interesting to see how it will end up in the end.
Thanks a lot.
I am sure you did Iain :) Its 2 years old journal, just looks a bit different from last update.
Search for Four Seasons. And you even have some plants from it :D
Great news Stu and Mark...
I am in as well and very happy :D
I wish they were ordered results  Good luck to make it to 100 guys. The standard jumped yet higher as it looks.
Well done Mark  You wont be dissapointed by result.
I will make a debut this year with office tank. Just need to scrape as much algae off as possible  Gotta pay tribute for 2 year old monster
Only test would show. Hei and a bit off topic. Heard the news Tropica updated there 1-2 grow range drastically. Some old gone but lots of new varieties available. And finally anubias petite on the european market
Just to let you know before you start your 1-2 grow 4ft adventrue ;)
Fui, its so ugly and neglected. How could you even think about posting this?
Any algae?
I think its good result might be due to fertilesed active soil. Dont think you would get away with the gravel that way ;)
Whats your opinion?
And of course get well soon. Remember what I told you...
I would say its same as pagoda rock available from several sponsor website on here. Try AE, they might have it. I do know few shops in London who stock them but none of them got online shops.
Nice one... With 3 being in the list from UK nothing good could be told about the hobby as a whole yet unfortunately. We are still way behind. I agree that those 3 people are most influencing inside UK. Well done
Regarding bulbs I think what Clive meant you can change the bulbs if you are bored of particular color (kelvins).
It is cheap. You cannot do that with LEDs can you.
Go no co2 then but try to nail your hardscape and make accent on it,then even with little plants it will look amazing and plants...
Hi, sounds like a great plan
1. The substrate does not really matter for the plan you have. Low tech plants you will use simply wont care too much.
If you plan it carefully you will have a winner in the end. Pay great attention to your hardscape because on the tank so big you will...
Good that you are happy  nothing better than decent hardscape in our world :D
The price is normal I would say. It's just that some shops are way overpriced.
Hehe, you can use it but cant call yourself a nature scaper
Not all wood will leach.
Manzanita does not leach at all, have not noticed at least. Redmoor leach only little bit if at all also.
Anyways you need to do lots of water changes in the beginning.
Hi, some people tried DSM on here with not much success, me included. No point.
I will have actually to restart the tank from the beginning now.
I would advice to skip DSM.
I really doubt it is Manten stone.
Most definetely pagoda rock.
The only 2 places i have seen it in UK is Aquarium Design Center and Living Waters both in London and both dont sell online.
Regards.
Simple and beautiful. Nothing unnecessary. Real artists work
Good that the hobby gets promoted in the best way.
And you have seen it in the flesh during the meet ;)
It was a small bag which i was going to mix with maui...
Unipac sands are very nice.
Re: Scaping a 60cm tank with Mini Landscape Rock and Amazoni
Rock positioning looks great.
Its better if you get co2 before planting as Mark says. Your planting plan is nice as well. Same advice, no reinekii as its leaves are too big. I am a bit concerned about vivipara as well as your tank is...
Thats right, heard the same thing from Rik (mlgt) and can confirm from my experience. Ordered some from aquaessentials and it came in both varieties. The more reddish/orange did break easily and the greyish was hard. Ended up sending greyish back and keeping reddish which i used on my 'green and...
Doing more water changes could solve the problem i suppose. If its only nano 2-3 times per week large changes wont take much time and will dissolve whatever leaks to the water.
I will double flygja not to hammer along the veins for the same reason. ;) unless the piece is really really thick.
And yes, you will get the same cheese holes inside...
There it is:
2kg FE for size comparison, the biggest piece is a little over 2' long and 1' wide. The smallest one is about 1' long.
4 pieces in total.
Looking for 20£ plus p&p
Regards and sorry for rubish pictures, could do better ones if you like the wood.
For me its number 2. I was a bit disappointed to see number one first, just not too my liking probably but done very well we must admit. And if you are ever to visit a forest in Russia you could see that it looks 100% like the scape. This aloneprobably got a lot of points it really looks...
Another great idea i could think of would be to make a middle island, maybe eben exposed from the water and to make the tank viewable from 3-4 sides with every side different.
They had 2 or 3 10inch pieces of petrified wood, that was a week ago though. I'd call them and ask when is their next order if you want more and bigger rocks.
Always welcome
Have to give them a visit again myself.
Oh, ant btw. It will be interesting to see how you fit 15kg into 20cm cube you planned
Hi, just basically the stones and wood. If they have fresh orders and what type. The time i was there they just had a few leftovers of wood and seiryu was going to an end as well. Its always interesting to know if something good arrives. ;)
For a future notice Luis. As you are a londoner and after some seiryu. I've been to aquarium design centre in central london couple weeks ago. They have some petrified wood and seiryu at 2.10£ per kilo  Was quite surprised to find them there at this price. They didnt have lots to choose...
Hello friends scapers. Have just received an order of dragon stones. Do like it very much. Hovewer they seem to be of two types of colors.
1. More red stones.
2. More green/grey.
I have tried to give them a quick wash and look how they look in the water. They still seem to look...
Ok, that sounds good... Do you remember how bad were the tanins back when you started using it?
Just look at the shapes of it!
Of course i wouldnt cut it from the tree, to many people enjoy this view out there but i hope to find something similar fallen on the ground. Anyway we dont...
Ooopsy
-30 would be freezing , thats what the weather at some places of europe was just a week ago...
Anyway i will probably stick to manzanita...
Shrimps are doing great btw :text-thankyou:
I have to update that journal.
Nope, i am not telling, its all miineeeeeeeeeee, my precious
Woodford new road, have been there today, made some photos and got some fresh air, it was a beautiful weather.
Wow, thats strong. Fruit trees have no such nice shapes unfortunately. Hmm, maybe will try to order some manzanita from APC. I really want something special for that scape.
Anyway maybe someone who actually used it could share his thoughts.
Hmm, thats interesting. What kind of acid is that? I just have lots of oak trees nearby and wood be able to choose from many fallen dead wood for 100G scape. Have been there today and you really could find amazing bits looking even better than manzanita. I have about 3 month of planning so...
Hello, i've heard that oak could be used in aquarium. Was wandering if anyone had got any experience with it. How long and how bad will it leach tannins?
Regards.
Re: Help with Hardscape placement.
Has to be number 3 for me as well, i would move it inch or 2 to the left if you want the wood to be a focal point, sloping would give it a better look as Steve suggested.
Hi, brought quite a few rocks of this type from cornwall in summer, unfortunately they have metalic veins in them so i am guessing that they are not good to put in the tank.
Would be greatful for an advice on this one. Are they good or not and why if not.
Regards.
The only thing left to me is to convince myself that the wood was toxic anyway :( witch i believe was not...
Will try to get some of it by post and find out anyway.
Hello everyone, was on a long holiday in Brazil recently. Had an opportunity to see some tropical fish that we have in aquariums in nature. Some cihlids, plecos in the streams and some species of tetras i believe.
Since i had plenty of time had an opportunity to collect some really beautiful...
