10 years have gone since last post. Just reread the whole journal. Brought back many nice memories of this tank and all people I met back then. Mb time to start something big again hmm.
George you unlucky. It is a super healthy tank and so many comments show how good it really is.
I have a feeling though that the second photo is much much stronger as well. It gives completely different feeling to the eye. The angle is also different? Gives deeper feeling and the fact that red...
So true. But on another hand whole UK is secretly waiting until GF goes HUGE. With your attention and dedication to details a tank of any size has no chance to be less of a stunner. Same goes to getting 6D and into the videos. I can bet an arm (not the plant cutting one though :) ) we are going...
+1
Just a note. Features scapes subforum is somehow not visible at all. Took me a month to figure out where Georges journal had dissapeared, only found it using search. Maybe it would be possible that more threads are displayed to catch the eye. Let say 3 topics with 3 most recent posts...
What a beauty. I will be using youghurt method with same plants but not blended together in next scape also after such a great result. Plus hairgrass carpet blended with hydrocotyle japan. What a great easy plant hairgrass is.
Tropica set looks cool, pity they cannot do bigger bottles due to...
Looking great, still amzed how good that method with yoghurt turned out and how quickly rock and wood get that natural feel with coral and fiss. As mentioned to you before did not expect coral to attach so well
Looking nice and... finished :) How on earth have you managed to fit all the species listed hehe.
This new ludwigia is super red indeed. Have not seen anything like that before. And stays very small in shape also. Can see it being used a lot in future.
Developing very nicely George. Unipac pettrified wood is amazing. I have a little scaped mountain scape and I love it so much that it sits unfilled for 4 months already
Nothing comes close to amano shrimp army for battling algae. In very high numbers they would even eat hair algae. You...
Re: Stu's 90x45x45 Apalala Shore - IAPLC 2012 World Rank #11
Congrats Stu, your best scape so far and truly amazing
Where do you guys got the results from?
Sorry for off topic again. There is a membrane pump available witch connected to your RO will give you about 60-70% good water out of the unit. it costs about 80-100 euro though but is well worth it.
Re: Stu's 90x45x45 Dragon Stone Scape (Video Page 7)
Ah ah. I must have missed the last update. Looking really beautiful and you have mastered to keep the hardscape dominating  Super good job.
I can feel this years IAPLC raded with quality UK entries.
How is this one going now?
Re: 120 x 55 x 55cm 'On the sea shore'
Very interesting on 1-2 grow. I shall be starting a full nano using those plants.
Ahh and more or less nice hardscape Mark
Just teasing
10L of moss would retail for around £500 and considering from whos tank it came you can double that :D
You might want to reevaluate what you do for a living
Re: Four Seasons 300L (09/12 update UWA shot)
Sooooooooo...
Lazyness had hit me again. God knows how long the tank has been running without co2 due to me taking out drop checker few months ago and not putting it back in :)
I can now officially confirm that UP atomizers get clogged completely...
Re: Four Seasons 300L (09/12 update UWA shot)
Hi guys, thanks for your kind comments. Yes it is still running and i am bored of it to death. It has some changes. Some Cryptocoryne balansae at the back. Weeping moss and round pelia carpet all around.
I am tempted to rescape with better depth...
Hello Tom,
Thanks for updating journals so often first of all. They are amazing as always. You are a master of colors
I wanted to ask if you could post some pictures of your sump and explain what has to be considered to minimize co2 loses in planted tanks using sump filtration. I...
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 getting close to the end. Feedback on ste
Not finished that one and crossing fingers for next already. Typical Mark.
That is the reason i almost never vacuum my tanks btw.
Looking spectacular as always
Re: Stu's 90x45x45 Dragon Stone Scape
Just love it. Great use of Dragon which is the hardest rock to use I find.
Looks better with extra wood in my opinion.
One thing if you dont mind me saying. I would prefer it with quite minimal planting. Might be very easy to overcrowd with ferns. I would...
Re: Tom's Bucket O' Mud - One year old!
One of the best for me too. Just love it. It is like a indoor pond with all it's beauty.
So great that it is low tech. Emersed growth is immaculate.
I shall read it from the beginning very carefully again to seek advices for a similar setup...
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 getting close to the end. Feedback on ste
Feedback for the stems: feed them back to nature  looks much better without for me.
It is top 100 and higher than last years at least or I drink all my tanks water. Amano simply Will cut all the judges into pieces with samurai...
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 getting prepared for a quick photo shoot.
Ehh, hope you still change your mind about iaplc or enter into any other. Make UK some proud
I have a feeling you might be right about photographing it without the stems. Mb you can do one in between where you trim them...
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 now with 300w of metal halide
You would still need to brush it gently I suppose. There are no wanders. What you seen might be just bleach or similar based product. And bleach is cheap as chips. But why use chemicals where just the brush would do the same work ;)
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 now with 300w of metal halide
+1 thanks for keeping us updated
I can see you are using Marina brush for pipes? Cant get into that end heh. I managed to get there with some adjustments.
Re: Four Seasons 300L (even more lazy bumping)
Here how Tank is looking now.
New plants: more pelia, weeping moss, cyperus helferi and juncus repens. Cyperus and Juncus are not visible yet.
Very low maintenance. Bleeding hearts out, 10 more cardinals in.
First shots with UWA canon 10-22...
Re: Four Seasons 300L (even more lazy bumping)
I would go 10cm higher if i could, ordered max height for the thickness of the glass, higher and it would cost twice more expensive :(
I dont know how much I am dosing to be honest at the moment. Different every day
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 the 4 week update
You are no longer our friend, this is very serious :shifty:
Almost criminal offense. Work of art must be made public 8)
Re: Untitled Yet 300L optiwhite (Lazy update 10.08.11)
I am a lucky man today. Bought a lens which I wanted long time ago, canon UWA 10-22mm.
Thanks to some unexpected Chistmas income :)

Re: 120 x 55 x 55 new video added
And influence all uk
To use less lighting for example. Which is very good in my opinion.
And damn expensive purigen.
Apistos are a no no with shrimp ;) as someone mentioned to add those earlier.
Re: NA Style Baby... (Some more life granted... Backlit shot
Thanks guys. The number of members should climb up a bit :)
Getting algae only when I would neglect. I find 80w of light too much for this tank.
Thanks for the tip Tony, could you explain a bit more in details. Should i just...
Re: NA Style Baby... (Going to an end soon)
Ok, I have decided to keep it for a bit more after seeing it clean with fish and all sexy glass :)
Tried backlit pics today...
Enjoying all different fish a lot. They came as a gift back in aquatics live and were a mix of everything.
Couple...
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 E. Vesuvius sprouting
Which shop did you go to? Can I have a contact number to ban you for future harlequin purchases please :shifty:
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 fish have to go.
Come on Mark, no more harlequins. I understand they are beautiful fish but too much is too much
Bleeding heart or smaller rosy tetras?
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 @ 1 week old.
Thats it Mark. You are sorted for a choice
A piranha, a little orange crocodile, small sexy hyppo, couple terrapins hanging on manzi and a monkey riding a duck 8)
Please apologize for this horrible extravaganza  but you have to admit that would...
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 @ 1 week old.
Just once? Man they make me money on crosswords
Come on Mark get something unusual... Terrapins? Amano would be your fan forever
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 @ 1 week old.
Galaxy rasboras are to complex imho. Btw you can get them quite cheap in some shops. In London the price range from 2.50 to about 7 for one.
Maybe little orange river crocodiles or sweet little hyppos?
Re: GA in-store display 120P Iwagumi - Fly above the giant c
Ehh, an end to a nice journey.
Hei you should have trimmed the roots and taken a proper picture. Another new stanning scape done :D
Lookin forward to a new one.
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Iwawoody.
I thought the same thing
I have bought today clamps after seeing your journal Victor. FInally managed to figure out what I need to put into search on ebay
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Iwawoody.
That is it. I am sold for UWA lens. Just need to sell all my spare equipment now :)
Looks so stunning and. I can see the final pic already, that vivipara miles away.
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Iwawoody.
Hehe, too much inspiration over the weekend
Great hardscape and with this lens tank looks as a cube
I am sure it will be awesome.
Re: Untitled Yet 300L optiwhite (Lazy update 10.08.11)
Have to admit i am thinking about ripping it down more and more :)
But there is still few things to try before that. It gave me a huge amount of knowledge, needless to say it is running almost half of my short aquascapers life
If I...
Re: NA Style Baby... (Lazy update 10.08.11)
Ye ye, proper update requires so much work on preparing a tank. No chance at the moment. Maybe in couple months time :)
Thanks Victor.
Thanks George
Thanks, lots of great scapes are burried like this due to lazyness :) Have to force...
Re: NA Style Baby... (Video 31.05)
Another lazy update. Please ignore the growing in plants in front/sides of the tank. They are not meant to be there.
Just a quick snap to show how it fills in.
Re: Untitled Yet 300L optiwhite (Cherry and Full Video 18.03
Long time no see. Lazy update this one.
Since replanting the stems at the back i have struggled to grow them well.
Islands look great and mature now. Trying some different stems and some other plants in front as well.
Hairgrass/riccia...
Re: Untitled Yet 300L optiwhite (Cherry and Full Video 18.03
Thanks Zerocon, since last update lots has change. I had some issues with co2 twice which almost killed all stems at the back and caused BBA farm. Tanks is getting back now.
Had just trimmed stems and will update when they recover.
I...
Re: NA Style Baby... (Video 31.05)
Thanks, the wood is usual mangrove wood available from the most LFSs in UK. If you have a tank not that big you can start with DIY CO2. Enough to get hooked ;) Just need sugar and some yeast for it. Google is your friend here...
Thanks
Thanks...
Re: NA Style Baby... (Video 31.05)
Thanks for your kind words Matt and George.
That not the streaming, its due to the tripod.
Have to work on it to make it smooth. Anyways its just the middle point of the scape, will try to improve when taking the final vid.
Re: NA Style Baby... (update 18.05)
A video... Some frames could be longer but thats just the middle point :)
Comments very welcome on how to improve things...
Watch in HD if you can.
Re: NA Style Baby... (update 18.05)
Thanks all...
Yes, one lonely eheim 2076e here. It was running through spraybar until yesterday and the flow was quite good so i didnt bother adding any powerheads.
Will see now how it goes with the lillies.
The lights are on for 7 hours, just 2x39 T5s
They...
Re: NA Style Baby... (update 18.05)
Thanks, not mature enough probably?
I am tempted though. Will set a starting point and target to improve later.
