Ok this is how it works... just the top ten tanks are placed and awarded in each category as in previous years, while the remaining scapes in each category are simply positioned in order of their size/volume smallest first... so a bit confusing. For example the last tank in the big tank...

I agree that's also my complaint, it's big clutter in the tank especially three of them, if it was black with black leads and black suction cups this would surely be less conspicuous... Other complaints are the cost and not bringing out a bigger version for bigger tanks. In a high tech tank...

we need more details about your tank as could be a variety of reasons and where the moss came from for starters, as difficult to kill moss.. I ask where it came from as 'in-vitro micro propagation' plants such as the Anubias brand, are vulnerable to bacterial and viral infections from the air...

In their reptile division I understand Twinstar are developing a terrapin spar bath version, but sounds like Sir Thomas rather requires anger management guidance .. I've gone through the same terrapin trauma and having to lubricate their shell with olive oil, so can sympathise.

Agree, it makes life a little easier for the advanced scaper, where limits are pushed and perfection reached, so you can spend more time on other finer aspects of the decor, as the count down to the 1/250th of a second click approaches.. Imo, it's not designed for the newbie algae harvester...

all reports and tests seem favourable.. once a success prices are bound to escalate and there are some good deals going at the moment as this product gets established :), no point throwing just one into a 750L+ in my case, but take your point.

The manufactures have suggested thee units for my 760L..but will do me a good deal, they seem keen to help :) Wish they had them in black though, three of those conspicuous white units independently spraying vapour all over could end up being quite a scene and launch the first sci fi Iwagumi :eek:

Great, that's where I'm mainly looking to use it so below the substrate and with lighter coloured rocks that are prone to algae, using lighter coloured Nile sand with a river bed scape makes this ongoing maintenance..

and are you happy with it ? Presumably you don't have to keep it in the tank all the time and you could rotate it in other tanks?

Waiting for the bigger jumbo model to come out and I'm in :). Mind you I guess two units distributed one on either side of the tank might be more efficient than one bigger model, although I really need something for 760l, say 600L of water max. Could they not make a more aesthetically pleasing...

A few quick questions, could you double up on the kit and use them in bigger tanks say over 500L ? Would it wipe out your moss in addition to the algae, as I note it's also called an algae and moss inhibitor ?

At a quick glance I would swap out the aqua medic 10k for say Sylvania grolux, as far as I know the A‘medic 10K is mainly for marine use. What is your photo period ? Getting an idea on your current water parameters would also provide clues as to what’s happening here.. How often are you doing...

We need more info with the basic tank set up/specs.. substrate (looks like ordinary silica), lighting, Co2... presumably not, water specs, are you dosing at all ?
