In my case problem was with tubes being too long and bended. If you dont want to cut tubes (like me) then trie to lift them and give them a little shake. Before that fill the filter with water and turn it on.

I have this filter (actually 2 of them - 1 is brand new) about 2,5 years now and it is great. Lot of people has it in my country (Croatia) also. Original name of this filter is Haqos EXPRO 500. It is great little hang-on filter, very-very silent (cheramic shaft), adjustable flow, lot of space...

I would go for JBL e1500/1501.

I agree with you - very good filter! I have e701 for about a year now and it works perfectly.

2211(1l volume) is much smaller than 2213(3l) so you can use media from 2213 but without media basket. 2211 will be OK for 30l.

Also have a look into JBL e701 and e901.

In my country Tetra EX1200 is only 18 euros cheaper than JBL e1500. JBL e900 is even cheaper than Tetra about 40 euros. Also I like their 4 years warranty.

My choice would be JBL e900 (or even e1500). I have JBL e701 on my 54l aquarium in my (our) bedroom and filter is deadly silent.

I think your aquarium is too small for even one gold fish. They need much more space. You shold consider buying some other kind of fish (like betta splendans) or RCS.
