Having a lid cut, what's the best option ?

3mm acrylic is more than enough, have one on my tank atm, cheap and easy to cut at home, glass lids make me nervous :D

    Hydor ETH 300 - Lasted 27 Days

I almost cooked all my fish last year, it got stuck on same as Mikster's, luckily I was around that morning when it happened and noticed the fish floating on the surface, lost a couple but the others recovered after the water change, the temp was ~38 I think, I put the damn thing in the bin and...

Acrylic Lily Pipe With Built In Skimmer

The inlet does the job and looks better than any other skimmers I used so far and IMHO is better even than most of the glass inlets out there, the outlet on the other hand looks kinda mehh, might be ok for a large tank but for my little 70l it's tooo big. Don't have pics with it but I might add...

Glass Scratched.... can it be polished out ?

You'll end up paying the same amount as for a new tank in the end and it won't look as new. :) There are two things I'll never buy used: external filters and tanks and never a black rimmed tank even if it's brand new. Mike

    diying a super canister fillter

I doubt you'll stand its noise  Just go for an EHEIM compact + 5000, not sure you'll have the same flow as fluval's fx5 though. http://www.eheim.de/eheim/inhalte/index ... 28394_ehen

    DIY "ADA PRO Razor"

Since I bought 2 of them (what was I thinking ) I didn't want to spend money on the one with a blade because I did have some JBL spare blades available. It's easier with these blades to reach the tank's corners as it covers the whole width of the scraper. Also the JBL blades are half the...

    Cleaning glass (in and out)

Hi, they must be the more or less the same, the JBL gloves I think have also some aluminium inserts (hope this is the correct english term) into the fabric. Regarding the glove, I'm using it now to clean the hardware/hardscape and for glass I'm using a DIY scraper that works better and faster...

    DIY "ADA PRO Razor"

Best algae scraper I had :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160391119882 + superglue + JBL Aqua-T Handy blade The bad: I wish it was longer The good: I can also clean the back glass without removing the spray bar Cheers, Mike

    ADA Amano Tanks...

Please check the filter specs before saying that they use low flow rate, it may look like that because of the large spread of the lily but it's not. Regarding maintenance if you want your tank to look that way you must stick your hands in it often, whether you like it or not. :)...

    recommendations for a nano tank?

Dennerle NanoCube Complete PLUS, 10-20l should be fine, for the 30l one I recommend you getting a second light unit. You can also buy only the tank if you are interested in other hardware. For details: http://www.dennerle.eu/global/index.php ... 84&lang=en

    Cleaning glass (in and out)

For outside I use my photo camera cleaning solution and some microfiber cloth. :) For inside I use a JBL cleaning glove: and a razor blade where I can't reach with the glove.

    Very flexible tubing

No, for nano's I use only internal filtration (Eheim Pick Up 2006) and I plan to upgrade them to Dennerle's corner filter (Eckfilter) cause it's slimmer. No need to complicate things, run around hoses, get a noisy canister. You don't even need too much media for these aquariums .. you just need...

    Very flexible tubing

Why such a big filter anyway? :) Dennerle makes 2 nice filters for nano, boyu and resun also and there are others.

    Very flexible tubing

Just use couplings to bend the eheim's hoses in your desired position. It's easier. Mike
