I am setting up a low tech planted system the tank is 20"x20"x24" tall, I'm on a tight budget and so want to keep costs to a minimum and also maintenance to a minimum as I won't always have a lot of time for the tank.
I keep looking at beamswork units but am not sure which one will suit my system best, these are the two im looking at? Im guessing the eBay one as though less LEDs the total wattage is higher?

Hi

good idea to combine a low maintenance approach with low light... this will keep you on the safe side. Both models linked are cheap and low light, the problem is that the information provided by suppliers is always very poor (even in the super cool and expensive LED fixtures), so you cannot be really sure what you are buying and the PAR values delivered (the best indicator of light output for planted tanks). I think there are some hobbyists in UKAPS using Beamworks, so their experience is going to be your best information.

Thanks, I will take a look. Ideally looking for something I can buy and fit straight away as not really got time to do anything diy atm
