    HC slowly turning yellow

I am sure it will be all fine, HC doesn't grow super fast but once the root system is settled it will thrive with your setup. Mine toke just over 4 weeks to settle and to cover all the areas. Now, I am genuinely happy how it looks. Have a looks at my journal " My first high tech tank" I...

    HC slowly turning yellow

6 hours sounds safe enough to me. I did the same until all parameters are stable. So I presume you are in your second phase of cycling? I didn't add any nitrogen until last week taking in account that my tank has been running just over 5-6 weeks. I have let the uptake of Nitrogen naturally until...

    HC slowly turning yellow

I have used Ada Brighty step 1 in conjunction with brighty K and had no problem with HC in Amazonia. Probably time to make a choice as it is not cheap or maybe go with EI. Much cheaper then a full botle of brighty K. Don't forget your Nitrogen! That's another £25,- at least using ADA stuff.

How many and which shrimp for my tank

One thing for sure, you will not be disappointed. Shrimps are great in a tank. I love them, they grow pretty quickly and are so peaceful.

How many and which shrimp for my tank

I have been keeping crs for the last 3 weeks in my first high tech tank without any problem. Although as you will here from many, you will have to keep the parameters healthy. RO is pretty much a must as you need to the TDS level within a range. They are not hard to keep as long as you got the...

    Re mineralising Ro water.

Looks good mate! Will you be making a journal? You sure can keep some crs and add a little bit of salty shrimps. Regarding amano shrimps, from what I have read you can add them as soon as your ammonium level has dropped, they tolerate nitrites pretty well. If anyone can confirm this with me...

My first high tech tank 60 P

Little update on the on goings of my tanks. After being away for 5 days, I came to check my tank and as expected it had a bit more hair algea on a few places and I had loads of white sticky film on the surface. So decided to change my fert routine and dosing. I ditched the ADA stuff for EI dry...

    Island Shore - 60 x 30 x 45 Rock, grass and hopefully class!

Looking great! I went with nearly the same set up but instead I have a 60P. Love your cabinet looks really retro. Good luck with the rest.

My first high tech tank 60 P

Just read about it this morning! Difficult to rip it out now. Well they seem to be happy for now. I have a 30L shrimp tank running his cycle so at the worst they can be relocated to a new home.

My first high tech tank 60 P

I Thank you. I only use biological media with one pre made purigen bag. The twinstar has worked really well, I think. I only had a bit of hair Algea and that's it. I got mine from The Green Machine. Don't take me wrong I still got a few spot Algea on the glass here and there but easy to...

My first high tech tank 60 P

My first high tech tank 60 P

I though I would show my first aquascape, it's still at his early stage (3 weeks since planted) but as I am so pleased with it I wanted share my success. I am happy that I am managing to keep 15 CRS as well as keeping my plants grow properly. I have kept the tank unplanted for one week as I...

Giving a new life to a unloved tank

Well the tank is empty now! But still have a hell of a job to clean completely out. Got rid of the internal filter and my old ext filter is running from a barrel with the old water so I should keep my bacteria alive. I have order 20l of Ebi Gold shrimp sub and extra bit like BT-9 and some salty...
