    Question for the Frog Keepers?

I normally take any surplus frogs I've got to the dendroworld meets, or advertise them on there. I'm resting my pairs for a little while during the cooler months to give them a break, but I've heard a couple of them starting to call, so I'm sure they'll have eggs again shortly  Oh...

    Question for the Frog Keepers?

Hope the answers are ok, give me a shout if you have any more. Dendroboard is OK but is predominantly american, and they tend to have very strong opinions on how people should keep dart frogs. I've found a better site is: http://www.dendroworld.co.uk The only snag is I dont think they dont...

I believe it stands for Heavy Metal Axe!. Its a composite carbon/resin filter cartridge used for removing metals and other nasties from tapwater, a lot of discus keepers are now using it with great results. Heres some blurb on it Lead Reduction Based on NSF/ANSI Standard 53 Cyst Reduction...

    Water Changes - Large Tanks

If you are using HMA then it doesnt matter where the water is coming from the HMA filters will remove any metals. Mark Evenden has recommended this method on BIDKA and a few people use it  . I've got a 500 litre discus setup and even for this size tank, storing enough water for my...

    Leaking Azoo CO2 regulator

I've got the same reg, and as James said it should be running around 800 psi. Did you shut off the Fire extinguisher once the reg started leaking? If not the safety valve may not have reseated until it reached a much lower than normal level (The safety valve may have frozen slightly open with...

    automatic top-up / water change

The float switch in the link IS a reed switch, the magnet used to close the switch contacts is in the float part. This switch is pretty much identical to the ones used in Tunze osmolators for doing exactly what you describe, replacing evaporation water. I would definately NOT wire this switch...

    Frog O Sphere

Dear God!!!!....is there no limit to the stupidity of some people?...whoever come up with the idea of that should be taken into a dark corner somewhere and taught with the aid of a nice big stick, to respect the other animals that we share this planet with. Makes a total mockery of the efforts...

    arcadia luminaire help

might be stating the obvious, but make sure you've measured the diameter of the hole including the thread!!, as thats the width of the bolts you'll need!.....5mm seems pretty small to me. But hope it sorts you out

    arcadia luminaire help

Find the diameter of the holes...I think they will be around 6-8mm...then look for m6 or m8 nylon bolts on ebay...I use them for holding wings on my RC aircraft!!!.....I may even have a few spare if you let me know the diameter. They generally are long but can easily be cut to length if you...

    Ebay Regulators

Just got one of these, set it up and its working a treat, £46 all in including postage, very easy to adjust the needle valve, and no noise out of the sloenoid whatsoever. Was very sceptical about it being to good to be true, but seems to be working very well, and took just over a week to arrive...

    Which T5 light unit?

Yes but with the compact fluorescent in the aqua one luminaire only occupies half the width of the fitting, as you said: Any stem plants I've had either end taller than half the height of the aquarium have bent inwards towards the light giving a very cone like appearance, and the tank looked...
