Last time I was changing the water I had to take care of my baby and some of the water came out from the tank. My wife wasn't happy - believe me. Today (I'll do the water change again) I thought about an alarm like blind people have for filling the cup etc. There is a description on this page...
Build two tanks
Two tanks would work for me much better than the one I have :)
Start with two tanks in mind, first create as good as you can, and learn the errors. If it is a tank in the living room family will force many things on you (put the fish too early and such). Then, after the first...
I was there. from 5pm to 6pm (as my daughter started to protest). I heard that someone would show planting the aquarium, but I've got the feeling it was more about the plants. Food wasn't bad thought!
I used peat (to prepare water which will be added to aquarium - not in the filter) - it's GW 220 ppm, KH 110, PH 7.0 - All before adding to the tank and certainly before adding CO2.
I think it will be good for angelfish.
I mean - the fish Ed advised to get are nice, but I think they belong to...
I know about livebearers loving the hard water. The problem is I'm not really into them... I had them when I was a child and it was fun, but (probably because of that) I feel they are like a toy - easy to . I liked the cichlids before as well (Malawi, Tanganika) and it was more interesting, but...
After I realised that I have so hard water in the tap I was a bit disappointed (good that I haven't checked it before deciding for a fishtank - I could resign). Thanks for the answers, they gave me some hope.
I've read that angelfish as a softwater fish may accumulate the minerals in their...
It's endangered (http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/13058) but it was 10 years ago. From the other hand they do breed pretty easy ..., but according to http://www.fishkeeping.co.uk/modules/caresheets/caresheet.php?caresheetID=27 "Minimum Tank Volume: 240 litres, Minimum Tank Size: 4ft". Mine is...
Hi
I have pretty hard water in the tap (GH 300, KH 200), and it seems to grow a little (320/190) in the currently fishless aquarium. PH in the tap is 8.0 and in the aquarium changes from 7.5 to 8.0
I wanted to have 6 or 7 angelfishes, but it seems I'd have to change the water parameters to...
It is the only one aquarium in my house - maybe that's why :)
I have the substrate from JBL (don't remember the name - I have it somewhere on the picture).
Tomorrow I'll change half of the water.
BTW. It's crystal clear at the moment, ammonia went a bit higher again (between 3 and 4), CO2...
Thanks,
So I shouldn't remove the dead leaves at all...
Anyway - I think I'll end the cycling ... Just add some fish like ottocinclus and maybe few shrimps as soon as the ammonia and nitrites will go down. If they will survive two weeks in health I'll add 5 angelfish.
Do you think it is...
