I have decided that my problem with the anubias is brown algae. If you take the plant out of the water, rub leaves with a damp piece of filter floss, it comes off. I did this the other day, rubbed a lot off, but its building up again.

My two anubias are now in my goldfish tank 240 litres juwel rio with standard T8s. I am not dosing anything atm, I stopped to see if I could get rid of this brown.

What is the way round this? There are too many brown leaves to trim off, the plants are very large and would leave only 3 or 4 new leaves on each. Cleaning the leaves by hand is very boring though.

adding a couple of ottos to the tank will solve this problem within a couple of days, they are IMO the best fish to eat this type of algae

I was still being bothered by the diatoms up to the beginning of this week. I bought 4 nerites and changed the position of the tank. I am hoping the problem has gone away, but I cant be sure!
