Attractive top substrate required

Anyone recommend an attractive top coat to go over my existing (Colombo ?) base layer which is quite dusty when you move it even slightly ?

I dont need it for nutrition only looks - thanks

You need to use a cap larger than the Colombo or it will rise above the top layer when ever you move stuff around, some of the unipac coarse sand/gravel range may be suitable.

That's the word I was looking for, a cap.

Colombo lately delivered a new soil called Flora Base Pro.. They advertise it as Japanese Soil for Shrimp and Nano tanks. Based on the ADA soils i guess. It's a little round somewhat soft round clay granulate.. I used the powder type on top of akadama.. and indeed the akadama keeps comming up, but they also have it in a larger grain. 2 colors..

No idea if it's already available in the UK.
