Moss for growing on rocks (Not Java Moss!)

Is there a nice small medium to slow growing moss the will attach to rocks?

I’ve had java moss before and I hate it with a passion as it gets everwhere!

i found fissidens one of the easiest ones to get hold of but it always broke up after a while

The trick is to trim. It takes an age to attach as it is, and usually I find there is one strand as an anchor point and the rest branches off (as it were) that single piece which after a while becomes too heavy to hold.

If you stick loads on, let it grow a little, then cut it right back, let it grow a little again.... Etc etc you will have many anchor points which each Bush out nicely but without too much weight if you keep on top of trimming.
