Is it ok to trim Eleocharis Montevidensis just like regular hairgrass or not?

I honestly do not know for the "true" E. montevidensis. But for the Tropica Eleocharis sp. (the tall one), you can defenitely cut the single straw at a given length and it will live on.
I often cut just at surface level, to maintain a straight upgoing look of each straw. If growing taller, the straws will bend over, floating on surface, and the entire straw will arch.
I would defenitely think the E. montevidensis have same positive response to being cut. I would not recommend a total "cut down", though.

Thanks, I tried a trim the other day and a few have turned brown but I only trimmed the top few inches
