I've heard these can be a fire risk, not sure how factual that is or the chances of accident; but maybe that has something to do with it.
Hi Sarah, to avoid using a bath for water changes etc, Google "python water changer"; you won't regret it
Thanks for sharing, superb post :)
That is absolutely stunning, well done maintaining the planted tank alongside the needs of the bee's!
Thanks guys, this has reassured me
Quick question on acclimating shrimp to new conditions, in a nutshell I have some Caridina types, including pinto, fishbone, etc, in my...
Are you able to get pics next time you're in? I'm in the midst of also setting up my spec v again, looking for inspiration!
I'm thinking a big colony of crystal black :)
Bit different from the usual crystal reds
Some developments, planted and re-scaped, as I moved this near a corner as the existing set-up didn't sit well with me aesthetically.
That's a really lush, gorgeous scape, looks great!
The aquael pat mini filter is exactly this design, just slightly smaller; think that's the best route!
Might go down the aquael mini pat internal filter route, simple powerhead attached to a shrimp safe sponge. Only wish it was...
Is it possible to filter a tank via sponge filter, and still grow plants that don't require injected co2?
I'm thinking plants i've used...
White clouds are awesome, so underrated
New Dennerle 60l nanocube, excited for this as it's my first "large" dedicated shrimp tank!
I'd quite like to carpet this with Monte Carlo, which...
As posted above, Dennerle nano corner filter is great for 10l tanks, it's what I use on my 10l planted, silent and unobtrusive
I can confirm this worked for me, using fluke solve :)
I quite like using them, but I wouldn't say they make that much difference, if any
As mentioned above, don't overfeed and you'll be able to control the population nicely, I personally am very fond of ramshorns; and hope that...
Inspirational for the Flexi :)
Got another one in the works! With a red crowntail that would go nicely!
My Dennerle 10l, with a mix of shrimp from low grade red cherries, to medium crystal reds up to red pinto :)
Dragonstone, fingerwood, stargrass...
Stunning, I've also been looking at the scapers 35...these images are a bad influence
If he's a long fin Betta, I'd be careful with sharp branches
Some new ones :) broke down the far left tank and replaced with my spec V.
Would like to see pics/video of this tank in action!
Not sure, I went for the white, and am happy with the results, small pic below of a tank ive just started for reference using the light.
V2 is good, I also recently purchased a 20cm chihiros A series on eBay for £15, dimmable, and its really good
Super tank, following you on YouTube
Thanks! It's the Flexi Mini Scape set, originally considered a traditional aquascape, but it's very well suited for emersed given the high...
A few tanks I'm working on, and one of my berried galaxy fishbone shrimp :) A nice part of the house to relax in.

Yeah what happened to hinterfeld?
I wanted to get a chihiros light from them, but have gotten from eBay instead
Here are some examples, please excuse the poor quality of the "scapes" if they can even be called that lol. All are DC aquariums in opti
Will try for pics when I'm home :)
I would recommend them to anyone looking for well built tanks, but if you're looking for really high quality...
Silicone work won't be as clean as known opti-white manufacturers, also the glass isn't just as clear.
Good prices though, and approachable for...
I have those drawers, and I would 100% not even trust a tank of 40 litres on it lol.
I used to have a 20l on it, until I spilled some water and...
This is looking great, well done!
Aside from the moral/ethical implications of these being the wrong seeds, those ones you show actually look really promising for emersed scapes...

I'm here in Brussels just now, and had the chance to visit the NADA store in Antwerp, which I became aware of through one of @George...
Any pics of your set up?
I'm getting more into the emerged scapes, much easier without water lol. Can sundews take the humidity? I'm learning...
Beautiful tank, well done!
Do you have further info for us such as tank size, brand, filtration, substrate type, co2 injection and whatnot?...
Update below on the emersed growth, a big thanks to Darrell for kindly sending me some fly eating Pinguicula!
Noticed a considerable...
Yep, I used shrimp king mineral by Dennerle/Shrimp King.
There's also a snail specific pellet which i'd hazard will also have high calcium
I'd say small snails only, I'm in Scotland too; I combat the shell degradation by feeding highly in calcium, conversely you can also harden the...
What's the wee set up behind it with the IKEA light?
Mini tank looks great btw
Brave housing CRS!
I procured a large glass fishbowl today, 12 inches high, 15 Inches across, 8 inch aperture at the top!
27 litres in all.
I really want...
The stock equipment will be more than adequate for low-medium plants at least :) smart tank, seen it in Maidenhead Aquatics recently!
Good suggestions, I've used soil though as this is intended as long term emersed, so would avoid flooding whatsoever :)
I'll try and keep an eye...
Can anyone please recommend a suitable pesticide spray, that will:
- eliminate small flies
- be suitable for a bedroom
- not damage...
That little edge tank is cool too! I'll need to work out it's volume too lol
Can I please use these images on a FB fish group I admin for? :) Just to show people how good these wee snails are as algae eaters
Anymore pics of the bowl and info?
It looked great!
Are you not worried about chemicals from sprays etc in the kitchen landing on the water surface?
Assuming sprays are used of course
I have these drawers also.
Heiko Bleher again...guy is like the Erdos of aquariums, I noted another venture he had going about biotopes recently, but haven't seen much else
Juwel 450 is really nice and as you say, solves the evaporation issue.
Worst case scenario you could always add powerheads to aid with the flow,...
how's this looking? Curious to see how the seed plants are developing, and if you're having luck keeping them trim. Any shrimp yet?
that's amazing, would love to do some sort of biotope in a tank like that
Speaking from experience, once the MC firmly roots I'd fill, I had my flexi mini running emersed for a while and it got bugs etc :(
that's a great bit of driftwood! I like the staging effect it has in the middle, and barrier for the background plants to emerge over
New beginnings, had an issue with flies etc on the emersed set-ups, so emptied everything and replaced with glasgarten aquarium soil, replanted...
I'd buy a cheap 12x8x8 tank, save accidentally scratching your Flexi mini!
They came in from a supplier, so no idea on them before they arrived sadly
Anyone have a clue? Seems to be rooting well, but came in as unnamed. My best guess is some kind of hygrophila but I haven't the faintest really....
Good to see you on here from Monster Fish Keepers! ;)
I'd suggest an all in one from say fluval or Aquaone, but also second Edvets suggestion! Zero noise!
cherry shrimp will be fine in hardwater, especially yours.
Regarding the RO water debate, I tend to half-agree, you can get away with using...
Thanks Darrell, I'll make a point of heading to B&Q this weekend for a look, I think I'm going to empty one set-up, and fill the other with water,...
they were probably gubbed to begin with, I'd ask for them to be replaced or refunded
can't tell if serious lol, that is actually a cute looking wee tarantula though!
Someone mentioned that to me, I hadn't even considered it! I'd be out of my depth, any suggestions?
I think i'll just empty them, I liked the aesthetic minimal equipment look, but if adding stuff like that etc, game's a bogey for me. Good...
hadn't actually wanted to fill these set-ups lol
something i considered, but its uncapped soil I have in there, so likely to be an utter riot if I fill it :(
Need to consider my options, worst...

I always treat new fish with praziquantel, in the form of fluke solve, as a precautionary
yeah I much prefer it to the flex, the box and curved glass on the latter do nothing for me.
At one point pets at home were selling the new spec...
I think they're discontinuing the spec, id suggest trying to get the latest version of the light somewhere at a discounted price, the difference...
I'm seeing a solution develop here! :P
Yes, I used to not even consider DIY co2, yeast etc, but as the hobby has progressed I actually prefer it...not for high tech scapes that are...
