Co2 bubbles will diffuse in the water or reach the surface and be lost.
So, you want the co2 bubbles to be suspended in the water for as long as...
Over tightening can break anything.
Lighting duration/ intensity?
Which ferts do you use?
Enjoy it :)
Line it up. Use sealing washer if provided and screw the regulator on nice and quick.
Don't rush though.
That's impressive longevity
It all depends on your set up
Water hardness, plant mass and light intensity play a part.
Good seals and tubing is essential for longevity....
Co2 art are good to deal with
I like their kit.
Sodastream bottles won't last long on bigger tanks.
About a month on my 1 wpl nano
its a compromise
just enough for nice plant growth whilst keeping fish arive.
Stick your head in the oven and turn on the gas, you'll get the same kind of outcome :)
my £90 tmc reg will not power my inline properly. needs constant adjusting. load of crap.
shake the filter - see what happens.
Are you sure there are no leaks?
Nice explanation, harry.
The soda stream cannister can be screwed on fast- once your are confident with the ' whoosh' :)
The single stage one should be perfectly suitable.
hand tighten , then another turn with spanner
About 30 CMS. Plus regulator.
How much pressure are you running? Maybe you need to increase it. 2.5 bar should be enough
Which diffuser? And which reg?
I have this regulator. Its useless with atomizers. Utter waste of money. Unadustable- nicely built but useless.
If your o2 bubbles head straight to the surface without being absorbed - the direct effect will be negligable
. Benefit will be gained by any...
I had two from ae. The in tank atomized and also the bog standard ceramic job. The ceramic one had slightly too big bubbles for my liking. The...
I went with a shallow angle in order to promote some surface movement. Although I never experimented - mainly because of my balansae would have...
If the flow is strong enough yes. Even now, with a low flow filter ( 5x turnover) all plants are gently waving.
it worked for me in my jungle, but I never had carpets except E.tennellus. Which was uncontrollable.
A nice 20 degree angle works for me
that reg is a bloody bargain. Everything you need right there. My tmc £90 reg is rubbish
Most adjustable regs cost around 100 £ . The ones from co2 art should be set high enough to run atomizers, which is nice.
5 hours a day lighting- 3 months
I recommend them.
My ecco pro does not cope with inlet injection
the co2 will enter the filter, regardless of where the diffuser is situated. mine is in the filter inlet, purely to give the co2 bubbles further...
I'm in my second week of sodastreaming my 40 litre. Have yet to get a refil, how does it work? You get a replacement immediately or have to wait?
My ecco pro is a no go with inlet co2. gas just builds up until it bursts out- wasteful in the extreme, and that's at a bubble every 3 seconds.
Cats are too aloof to concern themselves with co2 - based goings- on. I suggest a rethink of the furry companion variety. :D . Your solenoid...
Forget about the ph. Just do it
A lot of diffusers do this. A pain to get back together again.
Put it after the filter, before the spraybar.
Is it in-line or an in tank job?
There could be a Allen key bolt under that green badge.
6 kg beer gas bottles, 18£
Co2 is more of a choice - do you want faster growth?
Or as you said, fill a bucket of tap o water and leave it overnight to de-gass
Do water changes long before lights on , or after lights out.
Are you dissatisfied with your tank?
if I was trapped in a disaster movie, I hope ceg is on my team!
Make sure it is pure co2, some has nitrogen added. Not sure about your query though. I use pub gas, does not day anything about liquid
Yep. It has to be food grade co2 only.
Re: Glass non return valves.
atomiser.... too much pressure building up in the system. which reg ?
Re: Glass non return valves.
blow into the non return valve, if it lets air through in both direction, then it is faulty. sounds like you have a...
that is intersting reading about the ph swing, eye opening in fact. was wondering about the daily and seasonal changes recently regarding lake...
SOUNDS NORMAL, MINE DOES THE SAME- CARBONIC ACID.
if you go inline it is probably best to have a regulator with adjustable pressure. You can get in-tank atomizors but again you might need...
aquaessntials have it
a lot. Nearly all aquarium plants spend most o their lives only partially submerged in the wild. That is why they need the extra carbon dioxide.
you can buy regulators with multiple outlets, would probably also need to add your own needle valves to moderate the flow to each tank.
you can get cheap regs on ebay. you will need a DIN compatible thread size. not sure i would trust most of the cheap regulators you find on...
i believe water changes are large and frequent due to the nature of the high tech organism. Everything happens faster- and more of it. I am sure...
you using tpn or tpn plus?
you do not need co2- it is a question of desire if you decide that route. which algae did you get? and how stable have your conditions been...
killing your fish with co2 is a difficult thing to do if you have the gear you need. easier to overdose with liquid carbon. low energy means low...
when you say 'great looking planted tank' ... you can have that with a low energy set up. injected carbon really does encourage growth when...
some do , others do not have good results with this reg coupled with inline diffusion. Could be due to other variables though.
the tmc is a very good unit. It fits some jbl bottles. A 2kg fire estinguisher too big for you? Although the regulator does add extra height ....
would love to see this previous post.
my drop checker is green for the first time! thanks for all the responses.
yep. Much better. Lots of smaller bubbles. Only a few large sized ones reaching the surface:) the pico is tiny but does the job- my fish are only...
rigged up the pico powerhead directly over the diffuser, lots of much smaller bubbles now. will leave it a day to see if it improves my drop...
the bubbles from my diffuser are too big and hit the surface before being absorbed. i have the jewel internal and now also my freshly delivered...
good idea, i have a nano hydor on order...my bubbles are just too big, thinking about the UP ATOMIZER.
hi all, am currently using an aquaessentials diffuser, it works fine but i need something that will deliver smaller co2 bubbles. err, non ADA...
