    Cheap CO2 check valve.

I looked at the spec sheet and it states NBR o rings with a quick Google showing this is a nitrile so should be pretty resistant. The second link is the exact same product that co2 art are charging £15 for not including the p+p...

    Cheap CO2 check valve.

Great if they work for you. I found I was getting back siphoning with the aqua ones using a bazooka diffuser. I liked the fact I could get a full datasheet with these ones.

    Cheap CO2 check valve.

Just a little find that might help someone out... I was looking for a decent check valve and wanted to order one from CO2 Art but at £15 P+P that was a no go. So had a look around and took a punt on this industrial airline one from RS components. With free next day day delivery and under £6 it...

Dosing iron for red root floaters!

I have been playing around with these and no amount of iron will make a difference. Its all about light intensity. In the picture the green floaters have been grown out in my tank under LED and the reds have been sat outside in my small daphnia tank in full sunlight. You can see the indoor ones...

Best Online or Physical store (London) neocaridinas

Facebook on the shrimp groups used to be the best place with very high quality shrimp but since the crack down on selling live animals everyone has shipped over to band. It's pretty easy to use and all the heavy hitters are selling. Cheaper than online as well. Hey, join our 'UK Fish & Shrimp...

    Tank care whilst away.

Well the results are in. My 11 nights away turned into 2 x 2 week stints with just a weekend at home. LED lighting choice

Without building it yourself or spending a lot more you are not going to get anything in the uk that will peform to high tech standard at that size. Tank care whilst away.

I'm away now so time will tell, but with regards to co2 I adjusted the timings as I shortened the photoperiod by a few hours. So I didn't want four hours of gas in a unlit tank. But the BPS is still the same. back on the 15th so will let you know how it went.

Closer to the sky - dry start method

Cheers foxfish, it is pretty much at 99% humidity according to my cheap Chinese humidity monitor. My temp seems to be constant around 23 peaking at 25 when the radiators come on. Its the urge to keep on peeking. The lights are going on a timer and I'm leaving it alone I need another tank to...

I am goifn to spray less now, i have a mix of in vitrio and submersed that i harvested from another tank, both in the same tank. so it will be intersesting to see how they get on in the same conditions. What was the average temp you ran it at?

Closer to the sky - dry start method

this has allayed some of my fears. Im day 14 of a dry start HC carpet and the larger leaves are yellowing a bit but lots of new shoots. at day 52 you have some yellow patches but it really pulled back when you flooded it. Did you find the yellowing was just old growth falling off? thanks.

    Grobeam for 160 liter

With regards to the whistling, I read somewhere, not sure if on here. The issue was a capacitor that they had used. The issue has been rectified but if you have a defective unit that whistles they will take it back and replace the component. In fact I am sure it was in one of the journals on here.

    Stocking Iwagumi

Stocking my first open style tank has become it seems a poorly researched element. With plant thickets as such to hide in what fish would not be stressed by this type of environment? Rasboras seem to come from brackish waters how about tetra? TIA.

The birthplace of good ol Maggie!

Thanks Dantrasy, I didn't think the layout would be so hard to crack! so I have followed the rules very loosely. I think my main downfall was not being selective enough when choosing the rocks! Better to change it now though than a week into the dry start.
