Using a Nice Storage Cabinet as Tank Stand

My wife has set a high bar in regards to the aesthetic of a tank stand and none of the purpose built ones pass the test. Would a 54 Liter aquarium with a reasonable amount of harscape(seryu stone) be too much to handle for something like this...

Forest Diorama in a second hand beat up bowfront

Great progress. Do you feel like the bow back noticeably adds depth compared to a normal tank now that it’s up and running?

    60x40x40cm Dragon stone iwagumi

The sense of depth on this layout, especially when trimmed, is amazing!

    Ada 45p Iwagumi setup

Very nice! Any issues growing the hairgrass in the areas shaded by the big rock?

    ADA 90P - "Low Roar"

Amazing tank overall but the hardscape is really inspiration material! I’ll definitely be referencing this journal when I plan my next aquarium.

    Nice setup!

    45P Nature Aquarium Mountain Aquascape

That makes sense but was worth a try :) I look forward to seeing the FTS!

The Celestial Swamp - A voyage through a flooded forest fringe (Shallow Riparium)

Amazing. This has to be one of the most interesting aquariums on the forum!

    90x45x45 medium tech :)

I'd agree with @Siege that the rock formation may be too symmetrical -- it just looks very neat, which I guess doesn't feel natural. Great concept and I look forward to seeing how it evolves.

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

Thanks @Jayefc1 Here it is with the water cleared and glass properly cleaned. I am thinking of making a change and moving the Myriophyllum Guyana from where it is to the left of the wood "V", then trim the Heteranthera in a diagonal up from side of the tank. The idea would be to enhance the...

(NO MORE) 2,000L High tech BEAST

It looks like you have dalmatians running around and playing in a field!

    The Accidental Aquascape

The very distributed planting instead of bunches actually works really well the layout -- makes it look very natural. Great job!

    45P Nature Aquarium Mountain Aquascape

Looks great but we need a FTS! I'm curious -- are you allows to share FTS that aren't the exact one you submitted or not FTS at all?

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

That's what I figured, but thanks for confirming @Zeus.

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

It's been quite a while since my last update but @Siege and @Jayefc1 I did keep your suggestions in mind. I'm happy to say that there has been good progress. I was able to battle the algae by increasing CO2, lowering light and increasing ferts. I think there is still some tuning to do but I...

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

I think just the seal, @Jayefc1. It seems to be torn up and brittle so a new one should do the trick. I have ordered a few from CO2 art and they should be here Friday so I need the aquarium to remain stable until then. I lowered the level of the lights to 30% and am not adding any fertilizer...

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

That was super helpful and super clear @Jayefc1. I'll give it a try and will hopefully have better results to show for it soon. It seems like the seal on my sodastream adapter has failed so my CO2 is now out of commission until I can get it replaced.:( That may have already been playing a...

    The drilled and sumped 60P

Looks really good and looking forward to seeing it without the sand. How did you go about removing the sand? Just siphoned it out?

    Amazing aquarium, especially for low-tech!

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

In the meantime, I have pulled up all the algae infested HC in the aquarium, cut down the myrio while replanting healthy tops and added in the new plants I had already ordered. It's much easier to keep clean without the carpet up front! The CRS population has also exploded -- I can see at...

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

Thanks @Jayefc1. The light/CO2/ferts situation hasn't been very stable since setting up the tank. The light was set to go on from 3-10 PM with CO2 coming on an hour before the lights. I started off with the light at about 40% and worked my way up to about 60% brightness. That being said...

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

I received the rest of the plants, CO2 system, lights and inflow/outflow from AquariumGardens and planted up the rest of the aquarium: Things started to grow in and I was pretty happy. Unfortunately, this is where things took a turn for the worse and algae began appearing. I don't mind...

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

I started planting it with the first plants I purchased, the anubias nana, a pot of HC Cuba and a pot of rotala of some kind that hasn't faired well since. I then filled it up: At this point it still had the stock lighting from the aquarium and inlet/outlet from the filter. As you can tell...

First High Tech Setup - 54 Liter

I recently started setting up my first high tech planted tank and wanted to both share the progress with the community, as well as get feedback and help as it evolves. I've been a long time viewer of these threads and am happy to be sharing my own adventure!
