Sharing cycled bio media between tanks

I'm looking to set up a new tank in the next couple months and wanted to mature some bio media first whilst I set up the cabinet and scape the new tank. I have a large goldfish tank which wouldn't mind an extra external filter running in it but the tank has some green algae and BBA inside it...

    Brown fluffy algae

Use a small tube (I use 12/16 tubing) to do the carpet. It has less suction power and will allow you to suck up dirt underneath the HC carpet in the future.

    Stocking advice for the cave...

Killifish should be fine but you will need a lid, they like to jump. Keep a pair (male and female). Also maybe think about some ottos and amano shrimp?

    Brown fluffy algae

Can't you siphon it off without affecting the plants? Usually brown diatoms only really attach lightly to plants as a kind of film and can be sucked off using a siphon.

    Pest snails

If you want a permanent solution you can also try assassin snails. Personally I like to keep some snails in the aquarium since they help clean up algae and dead plant matter. They shouldn't go after healthy plants.

    Ember tetra price

I wouldn't recommend mixing male betas and male guppies together, especially in such a small tank. They will likely be territorial towards each other.

Removing algae prior to re planting anubias

I used to use the coarse side of a sponge to lightly rub on the leaves to get rid of green spot and BBA on anubias leaves. Don't rub too hard though as it might damage the leaves.

Advice on how to introduce co2 and change lights for established tank.

Neo shrimps should be fine, crystals will survive with CO2 and heavy dosing but not the most ideal for them.

You can get brackets for hanging lights that attach in the sides of your aquarium: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LEDHOLYT-Aquarium-Suspension-Bracket-Hanging/dp/B00E9LU9NE/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=aquarium+light+bracket&qid=1579188998&sr=8-5 Alternatively you can get a floor or desk stand and hang...

    Filter for a ADA 45p

If you don't want to use a heater inside the aquarium you can use an inline heater like the hydor or sunsun one. It will also help reduce the flow a little.

    Adding more soil

If you are planning to add ADA Amazonia you should soak it first for a couple days and after adding do more regular water changes. It contains a lot more ammonia in it compared to the tropica soil.

    Mixing Various Cardina Shrimp

Many of the variants are cross bred from other pure lines. For instance tibees are tiger and bee shrimp. Color variations tend to come as a result of the lineage of the shrimps being bred together. In general, mixing results in worse colorations (less vibrant, murky patterns) except if you know...

    ADA filters LPH

I was looking at the superjet filters that ADA make and was wondering why their flow rates are so much lower than the recommended amount for the tanks that ADA pairs them with. For instance the ES-600 is rated at 330 litres per hour but is recommended up to the ADA tank 90P (182L). From my...
