UPDATED: Eheim Pro 3 2075 Review

Not really, It's a known issue and as the 2071/3/5 range was introduced July 2009, the oldest ones are still under warranty until July 2012. Speak to John Allan direct, perhaps not mention you bought second hand unless asked, just focus on the leaking issue. I bought 2 2073's for myself and a...

    Best all round liquid fertilizer

Thought it was tea spoon but best to check. Ordered up some dry ferts and will try that route as it seems simple enough.

    Best all round liquid fertilizer

Sorry if this sounds really stupid... but when you say 2.5 tps, is that 2.5 tea spoons? Better to ask questios now that totally mess things up.

DIY co2. can you over dose ?

I agree with LG, it is possible to overdose DIY. Ok, I'm new to it all, but I'm getting the balance fine tuned at the moment. I pump the CO2 out through the diffuser and the drop checker goes medium green after about an hour. If I turn it up a little, the Tetra hang at the top in a shoal...

    wrong lighting?

I've got a 175l tank, fairly heavily planted and accompanied by some Blue Tetra and some Rams. The plants are looking great, the fish are healthy, though still getting the CO2 balance right. However, one aspect of the tank bugs me. Lights off, the Tetra have lovely blue stripes, the Rams have...

Can you recommend a shoaling fish for the top of the tank?

Re: Can you recommend a shoaling fish for the top of the tan My Blue Tetra like the top of the tank but I don't know if you'd find this as you have other Tetra so they may head to them for shoaling. The problem I've found with shoaling, or is that schooling, they will only shoal when they feel...

    film/scum on top of water

I've read with great interest and I've already got just short of 12x flow and tghe CO2 has only been plumbed in a short time and I've just upped the amount. On top of this, I'd doubled the fert dosing. It seems fairly obvious once you read those threads that I've got it because I'm well stocked...

What's the demand for high street planted aquarium shops?

Re: What's the demand for high street planted aquarium shops I know personally, I try and stay away from the bigger commercial businesses like Maidenhead Aquatics. There are 5 localish to me and the quality of the fish and plants really varies a lot. In one, the fish were really well kept, yet...

    film/scum on top of water

I've had aquariums for years, but this is my first one with real plants. Only now have I noticed a film/scum that builds up on the surface. I can only put this down to the live plants. Is this normal and is there anything I can do or should be doing about it?

    dosing error, suggestions?

Hi, I've only just got my tank running properly in the last few weeks, plants in, now have fish and this week was my second time of adding TPN+. I added it yesterday, Saturday, and without thinking. Today I've just done a 20% water change and then cleaned the external filters. The TPN+ will have...

    New online plant store

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and place an order. I've been building up my tank slowly over the last few months, converting it to a cold tank with goldfish to a tropical scape with live plants. It's the first time I've ventured in to live plants so was a bit unsure of what to buy. I had...

    what route would you pick?

Looking to buy the filer/s for my tank and now unsure of the best route to take. I was looking at the Eheim 2080, but now considering the option of 2 smaller filters to match the flow rate of the big bertha. 2080 Benefits: large canister and filter size twin outlets 10x flow less frequent...

    10x flow, ok for fish?

That's all reassuring to know. will be getting the filter very soon. I guess it makes sense the fish seem healthier as they are going to be more active and in turn this creates a more pleasing environment. A tank looks better with fish swimming about rather than a tank where the fish just wander...

    10x flow, ok for fish?

Ok, I'm sure this has been covered many times over, but I have two mates, at either end of the scale, and I need some reassurance. I have a 170l tank so the ideal is 1700l p.h. flow... enter the Eheim 2080. On paper looks perfect and has great reviews from users. One mate has a larger tank than...

    what to buy?

ooo, that's interesting, I knew some trops can live in cooler temps, but just thought it was a select few. Might look further in to that. Definately going down the lid route now, just need to find the right one. Then on to filtration.

    what to buy?

Yeah a lid would certainly be a benefit to reduce humidity. Currently the goldfish are cold water so not much evaporation, but my mate's tank uses so much water in comparison with the water being heated and this is obviously what I will have to do to be able to keep tropical.

    what to buy?

Hi, first post for me. I've for a Clearseal 48x12x18 tank and just finished building a stand for it. I'm converting the tank from a few goldfish to a tropical set up with live plants (hence joining up here). Not sure how to go about lighting. Need to change what I have and unsure whether to get...
