    30cm cube tank

While the UK may be small it is made up of very different rock formations through the lifetime of the Earth. The tip of Scotland and Northern Ireland and some of Norway have travelled from being next to what is now Canada. Other parts of the British Isles have travelled from being trapped in...

    30cm cube tank

I like the light stand but I moved into an industrial kind look a couple of years ago. I think the black (is it?) and straight lines add to the overall tank aesthetic here :) From this picture I could see it as in the ADA gallery or a feature in a magazine trying to tempt people into the...

    30cm cube tank

I would never setup a tank like that with stems front to back.....but maybe I should because that would look lovely in my living room. The colours go so well together in there, and the varying heights at the front does something really nice to break upt the pallet. From the front I guess is...

Hi guys and gals, I'm GreenNeedle. Remember me (Not a journal) Journal.

And this one is the star of the show. Abouut 6 inches tall now from the stone it is tied to and has 3 branches. Little flower growing on the top there I think. Thats it for the photos for today. Plants are due next week and I'll plant them as they arrive. Dose Easycarbo daily when that...

Hi guys and gals, I'm GreenNeedle. Remember me (Not a journal) Journal.

And finally the Buce was pretty much "plug and play" in that they are all tied to stones so I could remove them quite easily as their root structure isn't like Anubias. So I took them out and put them in a gluterhaldehyde bath for 5 minutes and then put them back. Here are some photos of the Buces

Hi guys and gals, I'm GreenNeedle. Remember me (Not a journal) Journal.

And that means of course new tank photos. Water still a bit mucky but here goes. The larger Crypt on the right has been taken out and moved behind the boulder on the left. I want to fill out that left corner to a more triangular shape like the right side from right corner to midground...

Shattered Tree 2 - 2019 - This was just shattered tree reworked after I had moved house. So plans going forward? Using the bad photo of the front again. I've crudely adjusted the brightness and contrast to something closer to what you actually see in real life: There are 2 things that immediately stand out to me. Firstly of course is the Cryptocoryne Balansae which I have always...

Left side: This is how light the tank is naturally without the lights making the camera adjust it all. Its not high light, not even moderate but it is enough and detail is good at this level for viewing purposes, just the camera doesn't like to show it. First off we can see Crypt Balansae...

Still losing fish, is it co2?

DW has several water butts all coming off his roof. I was using 2 when I had Crystal reds. Did nothing other than put the relevant amount of tap conditioner in it and then mixed 3:1 with some tap to reduce my heavy water down. Didn't do any filtering etc. Just used it.

Still losing fish, is it co2?

So use the rainwater you said you had instead, throw in the usual water conditioner that deal with metal in case there are any metal pins or hooks in your roof setup and the remineralise that. Like DW said above, rain water is what he uses. It is what I used to use to cut 3 parts rain/1 part...

Still losing fish, is it co2?

The water report for Something Fishy's area is very soft but quite puzzling (to me) on Ph. 28 parts per million (so his substrate or hardscape seems to be adding some on top of that) Clark 2º, French 3º, German 2º so it is very very soft water. Colorado - 80x45x45 Optiwhite

And this update is 7th May 2016: I still haven't decided what to do with the transition areas that are bare but I have now moved the whole tank and cabinet to the side of the room rather than in the alcove. The dog is now in the alcove and has a little bit more of his own area now without me...
