My advice would be to add a Pond Air Pump. Not only will it provide adequate aeration but it will also increase water movement which will reduce ' dead spots '

I'd second that, and if the budget will stretch to it Saki Hikari. You can always supplement with a bit of home made too but don't feed if temperature is below 10deg.
I'm just in the process of setting up a 48litre Nano that I'd previously been using for marines - oh and I also keep koi.
I'll post some pics of the nano as soon as I can as I'd appreciate a bit of guidance on this new high tech approach !
