trying to decide between hc "cuba" and glossostigma elatinoides for a carpeting plant which is easier? 1stly to grow and 2ndly to maintain which looks better? what are the pros and cons of each?

i think i will use the aquabasis+ under playsand . as i said the vast majority of the substrate will be covered so a little bit of mixing over time shouldnt really cause a problem as it wont be seen . there will be a small area of open sand for corys , if i have to keep tidying that area up...

80x40x35cm tank im putting together a list of plants that i like but i was hoping somebody with the " mental eye" for how plants will or wont go together could give me an opinion . would these plants work well together or just look a bit of a mess? focal point im thinking of doing something...

i wouldnt use cat litter again if you paid me . it gos to mush and makes an awful mess. i had it underneath sand and it was without doubt the single worst thing ive ever put in a tank . have you had problems with the sand and aquabasis mixing?

yes im trying to settle on a cory friendly product like sand , but 1 that will sit on the top and not mix over time .

yes its that very thing about the flow etc being more important that makes me wonder if its really worthwhile upgrading .

it will be pressurised co2 , using EI dosing. im aware that more light = more co2 = more ferts etc , i was just wanting to know if its really going to make a worthwhile difference in terms of growth and plant choice

just how bad is it for leeching ammonia? just how good is it ? is it used alone or as a base and then capped? if its as bad for leeching ammonia as its reputed to be , im probably going to seek an alternative as i will be setting thee tank up with a fully cycled filter and cant be doing with...

i was going to do a big planted tank , but have decided to be sensible and use my empty 112L to learn on 1st. it will be filtered by an internal filter with a powerhead providing the rest of the turnover. this means il be using a glass diffuser in the tank instead of the inline atomiser...

so when the solenoid cuts out the co2 when the lights arent on . i dont need to do anything? just leave the handles taped together and it will be fine overnigh then just start up again when the solenoid restarts the co2?

im registered on here , aquascapingworld,plantedtank,barrreport,tff,cichlidforums ,africancichlidforum and a few others i dodnt use any more . mainly tho i use ukaps , tff and aquascapingworld.

i think whats pushing the price up on those tanks is that they come with the sump and pipework.

just checked out their website , was it the godiva tanks you were looking at? clicked on tour the store too , i must say it looks like a really clean well kept shop . shame its so far away

i did think about it and i am keeping alook out for something reasonably local , but probably wont bother. by the time you add up van hire , diesel etc id rather pay a little bit more and get a brand new 1 with a 3 year warranty delivered to my door .

what i might do is get the bidget 6x2x2 for £499 . only real difference is no doors etc on the cabinet , but i could put some doors on it myself

6x2x2 would be my choice , but realisticly the sale of my other stuff isnt going to raise £730 but it should raise £500 and at the moment i just cant afford to pay the difference. at the end of the day im not after trying to create a world beating aquascape just a nice healthy attractive...

as the title says really. im very new to all this co2 stuff. im looking at using 1 and delivering the co2 via my spraybar . now i know i need good circulation , regardless of the diffusion method , thats not really what im asking . its a big tank im planning and so far this seems to eb the best...

interesting. so if i got a 5kg fire extinguisher i can just get that refilled when its empty ? ive been looking at bee gas suppliers etc . if i can get the fire extinguisher refilled cheaply then the big tank will be a goer. subject to me selling my other tanks to bankroll the upgrade of course
