trying to decide between hc "cuba" and glossostigma elatinoides for a carpeting plant
which is easier? 1stly to grow and 2ndly to maintain
which looks better?
what are the pros and cons of each?
after hitting the skids due to lack of finances my planted tank is finally able to get back on track . i need to get a regulator and solenoid to fit a 2kg fire extinguisher . im looking at this 1

80x40x35cm tank im putting together a list of plants that i like but i was hoping somebody with the " mental eye" for how plants will or wont go together could give me an opinion . would these plants work well together or just look a bit of a mess?
focal point im thinking of doing something...
just how difficult is this plant . i keep reading varying reports of it being anywhere from a total nightmare to medium difficulty.
in a tank running 2 full length t5s with pressurised co2 and EI dosing , how difficult is it really?
just how bad is it for leeching ammonia? just how good is it ? is it used alone or as a base and then capped?
if its as bad for leeching ammonia as its reputed to be , im probably going to seek an alternative as i will be setting thee tank up with a fully cycled filter and cant be doing with...
im struggling to choose a good regulator and solenoid to go on a fire extinguisher . ive found 1 that seems good quality but was wondering if theres anything as good but cheaper?

i was going to do a big planted tank , but have decided to be sensible and use my empty 112L to learn on 1st. it will be filtered by an internal filter with a powerhead providing the rest of the turnover. this means il be using a glass diffuser in the tank instead of the inline atomiser...
using a fire extinguisher with a co2 with a solenoid on the regulator , what happens when the solenoid shuts off the co2? in the turorial on this forum , the op has the fire extinguishers handles taped together to keep the extinguisher "open" what happens when the solenoid shuts off the co2...
im hoping to set up a 6x2x1.5 planted tank. im starting to get a bit worried that 18 inches front to back might be too shallow. 6x2x2 isnt an option as the cos of those extra 6 inches is a big difference ..... nigh on £200
72x24x18 ( special offer) £ 535
72x24x24 (£730
is a nice looking...
i know theres loads of variables that will affect co2 usage , but can anybody with a bit of experience give an educated guess as to roughly how long i could expect a 2kg fire extinguisher to last on a 6x2x1.5 planted tank ( fully planted)
as the title says really. im very new to all this co2 stuff. im looking at using 1 and delivering the co2 via my spraybar . now i know i need good circulation , regardless of the diffusion method , thats not really what im asking . its a big tank im planning and so far this seems to eb the best...
hi everybody , this is my very 1st post here .
im selling my current tanks and upgrading to a 6 footer ( 6x2x1.5) which will be fully planted . id just like some thoughts/feedback on my planned setup . ive been researching/reading on many sites on many subjects and so far im planning the...
