@Nat N: I'm using local Ferts made by my friend, they called Aquaflirt
@alastair: thanks..!!! unfortunately my biggest tank only 3ft long, because my dorm room only have 20 meter square and filled with 5 nano-med tanks. Maybe I will build 5-7ft tanks when I move to my house 4-5 years later:p...
thanks bro,,
sending them to UK? hahaha, shipping cost will be more expensive than the wood price :p
yes it is, in my country lot of bonsai hobbyist using santigi wood (Pemphis-Acidula)
These are all of my tanks created in 2012, hope you enjoy it :)

Hai Mark, I always love your tanks :)
can you share this tank specification?
lighting, filtration, substrate, fert & WC regime, etc
thanks :)
CFL phillips tornado available in 2 color, warm white (2700K) and daylight (6500K)
Sorry I showed you the wrong picture :D
Using CFL for nano tank is very simple and cheap, but for large and tall tank it won't be efficient because the penetration rate is low
Re: "Pepinos Hills
Ohhh... At phpbb based we can do this..
But in vbulletin only mod/admin can edit the thread tittle
Hahaha my bad, ok thanks bud...!!!

Hey Tom,
Nice tank and healthy growing plants.
What type of bulbs do you use? I guess it is T5HO but can I get more detail information?
This picture shows you using different colour temperature each bulbs, and on the right side (no.2 from right to left) it looks like you put one reddish/pink...
I saw bolbitis under Davallia plants (CMIIW, 00:17-00:23 in the video). Did you got those bolbitis in emerged form or you just adapted the bolbitis from submerged form?
I never success to emerse bolbitis, they always melt.

@ hijac & muleous: thanks bro :D
this is the update after 20 days,
not many changes since initial, because those mosses are pretty slow grower. But hairgrass runner growing crazy.. its gonna be hard homework to prune it, also white sand turns to ugly color LOL
it is injected with pressurized CO2 via UP inline diffuser, and the rate is more than 30ppm. Also I'm doing 90% waterchange everyday, yes.... every single day.
at the moment only brown algae appears on the rock, well... it will dissapear if I put some algae eaters like otto or horned snail. But...
this one..?
that is intense bazooka diffuser
I got it from here: http://www.aquastore.com.hk/details.php?productid=1294
or you can find it here: http://www.greenleafaquariums.com/co2-diffusers.html
almost all of my tanks using standard energy saving bulbs, and I never had a problem growing plants include HC, glosso, downoi, UG, hairgrass, etc.
3ft stonehenge tank used 4xPLL 36W, and recently using 2xPLL 36W + HQI 150W
Yes george, I know what it feels as well. Many website or blog stolen my tanks photos and claimed that is their creations. But at least I'm not the person that hijack, copied and uploaded that aquajournal pdf.
all my tanks using single outlet or lilypipe. 3ft tank using 2 canister (eheim 2217 and jebo 825), nano using one canister (2ft: 2215, 1ft: 2213, 1G: DIY canister) + one mini HOB with surface skimmer. It makes good water flow and nutrition/CO2 circulation.
nice thread about this issue...
I'll not pay if next edition will be like august.. it's not worthed. I count this 1st edition is a free sample... let people choice.
FYI, I subscribe AquaJournal magazine edition, IAPLC annual booklet, Nature Aquarium Book and “Glass no Naka No Daishizen” 1985-2009 complete collection. I think...
this is my new tank, appx 6.5x5x5 cm.

Geologically, Sandstone terms came from grain size. So sandstone can be various in chemical contents. If the grain derived from calcareous source, it will raise your water hardness. So test it with acid chloride, dont use if it fizzing
nice hardscape victor..!!!!
IMHO, the big rocks at the right side distract the focal point, because it has same size with main rock and has lighter colour comparing to the other. If I were you, I will change that rocks to a smaller one and with same texture/color
I have 4 UP atomizer for a year.
I never soak it to bleach, just brush it with hose brush cleaner while do a filter maintenance. And still works perfectly until now
I think UP will be better:
UP :
(+) very dense ceramic and will produce very tiny bubbles
(+) made from plastic
(+) not reduce flow from canister
(+) cheap prize
(-) need high pressure from co2 cylinder (30-40 psi)
CALX:
(-) reduce water flow
(-) very fragile because made from glass
(-) GSA and...
It depends on how hard your tap water, and what water parameter do you want in your aquarium.
My case:
Tap water: pH 6.8 ; kH 13 ; gH 9 ; TDS 280 (not consistent, depend on weather)
RO water: pH 6 (initial) ; kH 0 ; gH 0-1 ; TDS 8
I mix 17 tap water : 100 RO water, and the result is: pH 7 ; kH...
- Use carbon active as your filter media for a month or two
- do a regular waterchange, everyday for 1st week, three times a week for 2nd week, twice a week for 3rd week, and once a week for 4th week
- using filter from mature tank helps a lot
- using water from mature tank doesnt help
I found the article discussed about spraybar vs single output before read this thread.
This is the link: http://www.aquascapingworld.com/forum/e ... y-bar.html
There are good discussion between the member using their experience and analysis,
Maybe all of your post above are right, but I dont really care which way the best. All my concern are plants health and nice layout, is that an aquascape priority right? And I think I'm on the right track to there
I never had a problem with a single output, you never had a problem with spraybar...
I'll go with 1ft height because it give deeper perspective than tall aquarium.
I suggest to use 4x24W T5HO fixtures hanging half feet from water surface.
I have an aquascape team, until now we only have 2 clients (7ft and 8ft tank) because this is only our side job to afford our hobby :D
Couldn't agree more... I love wide tank...!!! I have a rimless open top custom tank size 60x40x30cm.
But pity most of aquarium brands sells 2ft tank with 1ft wide. So if you want wide 2ft tank, you must request custom tank to glass store
i'm not sure you can get this online. Or maybe you can try to find on ebay. That mini hob brands "luckyness" or "luckiness", i'm not sure with "y" or "i" because it chinese product :D
I always try to press down the budget by using many chinese product and my DIY, hehehe
Most of those plants are not Indonesia's native, the location is near with aquatic plant farms. Maybe farmers throw out roots and or stems to adjacent creek, so they grow madly in the rivers
That is mini Hang On Back filter, this mini hob come with mini surface skimmer inlet, so its cheap surface skimmer alternative. It cost about US$ 4
Why do you think that I'm a millionaire? I'm only office employer that pay not more than US$900 per month
FYI, aquascaping cost here in indonesia...
