i cant really help with the bubble rate. my lunapet solenoid broke after a day, and for a few days till i bought my aqua medic one i was just shutting off the main valve on the bottle. are you able to do that? or wont you be present to do so? just an idea.

25-50w depending on the ambient temperature of the room.

i really like this tank, rocks look nice and the layout is great. plants look really lush too, i especially like the foreground, and the valley between the rocks. love it! :thumbup: could you list the livestock please?

i use ehiem classics on the majority of my tanks, there great value for money, do a great job while being very simple. there damn quiet to. ive got 2x2217s, 1x2215 and 2x2213's. just make sure you look at the + models, as you get the double taps ect that you'll need.

co2 tank > regulator > solenoid > Check Valve > Bubble counter > Diffuser. so yes, it sounds like you just need a co2 supply i have no clue how good/bag that product is but it looks like the tool for the job.

nope it was a nice green colour when the lights went out last night. but it wasn't that green as the lights came on which is whats making me think i need to start the co2 a bit earlier. my CO2 comes on at 5pm, 2tubes on 7pm, 4tubes 9pm, 2tubes off 11pm, CO2 off 12midnight, lights off 1am

all my tanks are on timers, different times, from 5 hours upto 8, the first tank comes on at 2pm, and the last tank goes off at 12:30am. i could space them out more really.

hi all. ive had this plant for a while, ive never known what it is as it came in as a cutting from a friend. its never really done very well until i moved a few cuttings to my new betta tank(with higher lighting) where it's growing alot better. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

that picture of the barb was taken with the old camera set-up, better lens also. but, also was in my old tank and i had 4 different temperature bulbs, made some great photos. they are stunning little fish tho. some videos after playing around with the camera, still getting to grips with it :)

£4.99 last time i saw around me, total rip off. you can get fire reds for 75p. and yes, glass shrimp are weird.

using cover glass on all my tanks, all of which collect condensation on. the lights are situated around 12 inchs above that(to a shelf above the tanks) plants are growing fine. better than when i had tubes a few inchs above the water.

a thin length of plastic pipe, held in place with suction cups would do the trick. think of it like a curtain rail.

i would echo the words of basil. you really need to get some test kits to know where your water is at. test kits are a essential part of any fish/shrimp keepers toolkit. you can pick up a API master test kit for around £20 maybe less, they have ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, also 2 ph testers...

i have a TetraTec GS45. its a stick with a double edged razor blade on it, so you can scrape going in both directions, rotating head so it keeps contact with the glass. and the handle is buoyant so it floats if you drop it :thumbup:
