    Setting Up, Suggestions Please

I used to have Jewel Bow Front, 180litres but for past few years have taken a break. But now back I want to do something a bit different and ask for people to look at my theory in the rough and to see what others suggest: I want to set up a low tech tank, not to big, planted and ideally have no...

    Eco-Complete or ADA Soil

I currently use silica sand, and it gets to dirty, and not the best for plants and flow. Thanks, for me that thread does not really answer the specifics that I wish to establish.
  12. adamhawk

    Eco-Complete or ADA Soil

Yes I agree it looks better, but what about what it does, much difference, length of life? Apparently Eco turns poo to food.
  13. adamhawk

What external filter for a 180litre tank?

As the title says, of course price the lower the better, but something decent is also important.
  14. adamhawk

    Angels???

I would recommend having around 4 angel fish in the tank of that size, if you would rather understock and make it a nice number. As with water, I wouldn't say they are to fusy at all. I have never tested my water at all, sometimes I clean tank once a week, once every few weeks, who can tell...

  25. adamhawk

    What Plant Is This

Well I phoned Maidenhead Aquatics and they said it would only be V.nano and they would not have ordered it as anything else. So I guess that's what it must be.
  26. adamhawk

    What Plant Is This

Then it could only be V.nano as its tall and fine, its not like "normal" vallis at all. Its almost like needles.
  27. adamhawk

    What Plant Is This

Can't imagine Maidenhead Aquatics selling it if its not submersible then. Hmmm well unless someone else finds a name for it I will be on the phone in the morning.
  28. adamhawk

    What Plant Is This

Im sure its not vallis, very sure. Was sold at MA, interested to find anyone who has any other idea to what it could be. ta.

How do I attach moss to bog wood?

Just to answer the question you just tie the moss around the object you want it on, multiple times until its fixed well enough. Once it has settled after a month, you can simply cut the line free.

    Best way to post mts

If you can get holdof buisness card boxes then they work perfect for bigger items, long as the snails are in damp tissue they will surive for about a week. Padded envelope for small and small box filled out with the damp tissue in middle with kitchen roll to pad it. Shall be fine.

Sending 100 snails in one go? In one envelope. Ive sent hundreds and never heard bad feedback, if you really want sent them in a padded envelope. 61. adamhawk

    Best way to post mts

In between some damp kitchen towel, easier to post smallest ones. I would say take four pieces of kitchen towel, put them in the middle, damp it every so slightly, put into a sandwhich bag with little holes in and in an envelope. Easy peasy.

Where to buy in the South West.

Aquator in Torquay, Devon is a great place, helpful staff and very knowledgable, a place where you are treated for what you know and not sold anything stupid. I guess the line is they are valid, ease, professional and honest. What more can you ask.

Backgrounds - what do you have and why?

I have a Juwel 3D Background, and have to say was shocked at the quality of it, extremely poor, hard to cut, snaps, and broke in serveral places, to top it of the Juwel Silcone was rubbish. So one to avoid in my book! Though now finished it looks nice!

    How well can fish heal?

I've never had luck with fish recovery products so I have a treatment tank, any sick go there to heal naturally and if they don't and they pass on, they don't spread germs etc. I'm luck that in 4 years only been used once.
