A tip! don't do a gradual change do a drastic one. Go for the lights ON for 11hrs and see what happens that way if a change is going to happen it will do so sooner rather than later, then work backwards reduce that change for the result you want.

I was in The Green Machine last Wednesday it was jaw dropping, such a pleasant change from the normal run of the mill LF shops. I'm in the process of looking my at getting one of their aquariums, the open top and suspended/drop lighting effect appeals to me and the quality is second to none.

It's finding the balance and the only way to do that is to play around and tweak things gradually to see if you can see a difference that effects either plants of the fish.
