Close cell foam and plastic mesh are great to create floating islands. I am now looking at hydrocoton sandwiched between two mesh pieces.. :) This stuff is really inspiring..

I have seen the wabi-kusa trays but not the balls, especially all lined up. :) It is a fantastic idea, and something for me to try out. This would allow every small corner of the house to have a plant on.. :) Pitty about the hijack.. :)

...wouldn't the clay dissolve on the water? Or would the plant roots keep it in place? It is a very good concept, and would look really good on a minimalist room.

Not a bad idea for a UG patch.. I got a tank where I could do this, and got platies to cull, they would serve a good purpose.

It looks very pretty, but I am sure that it will cost a lot. :) Not that I am cheapskate, but I am sure that it is just a lamp with a bulb, and someone with a metal base and some tubing can make it just as well.. :)

Hi.. The ADA lights are pretty, but they must cost a lot.. All ADA stuff costs a lot. I would get a indoor grow lamp, and lamp shade and a lamp holder, make my own version. Try this: http://www.growell.co.uk/p/1582/CFL-Lea ... kits-.html

Re: Wabi-kusa project Good idea.. I got a bowl that came with a orchid, long dead, I can use it with some emmergent plants.. Will try your plants, got Lileaopsis, Marsilea and Hydrocolyte on my tank, so it will be just a need to get the scisors out. Should I use potting soils, or coco coir...

Re: Wabi-kusa project Hi TBRO, Funny enough I am also doing something similar, a floating Wabi-Kusa, but I didn't use any wood to keep it up, used closed cell floating pads. I bought three 10cm thick pads, and carved a 15cm diameter wheel on it, then placed some Hydrocotyle verticillata...
