Nearly a week later and I have my new lens. Still don't understand my DSLR or lenses in manual to a degree but the shots seem to be looking better anyways. Just a simple re-crop, no sharpening, or PS tricks...

TDS of 150ish, KH of 4, PH of 6.3. 50-50 RO and tap water, 24 degrees. Plants havn't seemed to grow at all yet, only been five days since I planted though... I'm really impatient! The crystals are really interesting though, there's 15 of the little buggers. They seem to love being blown around...

I separated each pot into 4 equal parts and planted them which gave me 64 nice sized Eleocharis chunks to plant. The whole thing has nearly carpeted with just these 16 pots :D

I also agree, I think the pebbles add alot to, don't get rid ;)

Good decision swapping out the Hygrophillia for the Japonica, subtle differences make a massive change. I'd leave the wood in there ;)

Haha, i'm trying to not make it boring... I'm trying to take as many pics as possible too. I know in a week or two it'll be time i'll change it again :D Plants growing so bloody slowly too! :P I know what I want it to look like and will stop at nothing till it does!

Looks good, agree with the comments about the heaters, get an inline, will keep it more stable and get the equipment out of the tank... When are we seeing this planted??? :D

Haha, marines seem easy compared to planted tanks sometimes. It's certainly more hands off but everything has to be perfect which makes it more difficult. Not got any P.Erectus in yet, I have P.Helferi in there. The Erectus is pretty easy to look after... You going co2 set-up? Seems most people...

Cheers buddy, I have H.Polysperma and I trim it every 4-5 days so far, it's crazy. It least trimming only takes a few mins. Nothing compared to doing a full tank test on my marines...

Spend a good amount of the day chopping and changing the tank, drained filled up, moved around, god knows what. You guy will soon learn that I won't stop messing around till it's perfect :p The final scape is done, these photos are teasers. I have finished it and it is different to the photos...

I could always change it if I don't like it, knowing me i'll change it in another few weeks or so :P I already have a plan for this tank once this scape is done and finished!

Not really enjoying the Redmoor Rootwood too much so have just ordered some Manzanita wood which should be here Thursday/Friday. Will look much nicer than what I currently have!

They are buddy, i'm going to run them for 6 hours a day for the first couple of weeks and at 50% then slowly ramp them up. I did soak the wood for a week or two, I have a feeling you might be right and it'll float, I did put rocks on top of the wood but we will see what happens in about an hour...

Yep they are fully grown, they don't do much, just sit there all day, they are lovely fish though! Most books, website etc say 125 litres is enough. They did (Which I expected) So I bought some fishing line and wrapped that and the HC around some slate I had lying around now they don't uproot...

Well, my new co2 can was used up in 3 days... I went and bought another two. I have removed my bubble counter and hoping that will sort it. Just a small picture update, still no signs of algae. Got the Royal Whiptails in the end... :D

Yep drop checker has it good at the moment. I will keep an eye on it for the next few weeks and adjust if needed :). Still no sign of algae, such a 'hands off' tank compared to my old marine :D

Wow, that is quite alot, I must not be dosing enough co2 then... According to my permanent co2 attachment its just right. I had a look at that, do you know which page in that massive thread that it start? Lol

They are, I am slightly OD the Co2 just to get it up. I am using the JBL u402 kit. I reckon it will last maybe 2 months. I am happy to replace it that often if it must. How often do yours last? I keep my lights at 60% but can adjust to suit the plants. :D

Nice having a sump ain't it! Regards to algae, I haven't had to clean the glass yet. All the plants and nice and healthy, dosing EI 5ml 5 times throughout the day rather than one big 25ml dose. I have a feeling that might help. I also belive the co2 is spot on! How long do you think it should...

That's what I was hoping for :) FTS Sump Dosing- Done automated using a Kamoer doser pump- 20ml of double strength Macro on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and double strength Micro on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Monday is water change day.
