    Hi Indeed, Copper is highly toxic to inverts....therefore if you purchase plants dipped in a Copper snail eradication solution and add those plants to a Shrimp aquarium the Shrimp will perish through Copper toxicity!

    Hi John I think the TDS could be the problem. Leave off the fert dosing as i mentioned....3 to 4 small water changes a week would be a start. You could use RO water to reduce the tank TDS if available. hoggie

    Hi John How much Macro/Trace are you dosing? I would stop dosing ferts as a test....try just water changes,small ones over the next month or two. Try and get TDS down to tap water TDS What colour is the Co2 drop checker? What stems do you have? Do you have a heater? hoggie

    Other name is bladder snail. Still need to be kept under control, though they do seem to do some sort of clean up job. I think we should call them Tropical Freshwater Turbos.... because these guys are quick for their size :roll: hoggie

    Hi Found this extract. It could be a Physa or Physella species, of the sort often called Tadpole Snails. They're basically harmless and feed on algae (diatoms, primarily) and organic detritus. Some people report damage to plants, but I have them in my planted tanks and they never seem to do any...

    Yea I get what your are saying...regarding rainfall stimulation. I would have thought to simulate the breeding cycle the Kh would be 2-6 for talking sake. Then do a large water change to reduce the Kh to 0 reproducing the natural environment. Most rocks/stones will increase the Kh not lower...
