Damn son, that’s a nice little scape! Be sure to replace the rotala with a grass at some point, it has real classic amano bones. Is it slate or similar? Reminds me of the rocks I collected in North Wales.

This scape deserves a hanging light! It's beautiful but that light... It spoils all the hard work.

The most is almost certainly a fissidens by looking at the growth pattern, it looks awful like F. fontanus, have you ever had that in this tank, even in a holding sort of role? I'll try and find my point and shoot to compare and contrast my emerse f.fontanus.

Re: 120cm - George of the Jungle Funny you should mention pirahna, I was thinking buck tooth tertras might also look good, the colours once happy are breath taking.

Re: 120cm - George of the Jungle Preacox rainbows would have been a better choice for the tank I think George, similar colours more elongate frame to exaggerate the horiztontal, that's a minor niggle though, I love how healthy it is, not something I'd ever want to try myself though.

In the last picture, is that a tang on it's side?! The sort of yellow streak? I love the reefs, so healthy looking!

The light on these apparently produce a very reasonable 30par, which means you should be able to grow a very nice range of things if you're co2 is good, keep us posted. It's a nice scape too, though I think the two bits of wood would be better on tilted into the scape to provide a focal point...

Interesting you mention the tanks as a limiting factor, it's not really something you consider till you have your hardscape, or at least I haven't actively. I personally thought the photography was as good as the PFK standard format, you're not missing much there. Substrate and decor is...

All of them where in the loft with the exception of the 75cm. Water changes meant carrying two buckets of water down then two up at a time till the job was done. It kept me fit.

How many tanks do I have? Currently 3, one on order. At the peak I had a 45x30x30 a 60x30x30 a 30x20x20 the cube and a 20cm cube and a 75x30x30 all running at the same time all planted. Didn't last long though, was giving away tanks and equipment left right and centre to family and friends when...

Rainbows don't like high levels of co2 either, I think it's a river type thing, I'm lead to believe co2 levels in rivers with lots of waste have higher levels so fish from these places can take more. I seem to remember Ceg laying this out regarding some fish that couldn't take the co2 levels, I...

I spot this autumn/winters new trend, beige/brown scaping! Very nice, I particularly like the iwagumi. Are there any stems in it? I see it as being a mould breaker like those of Nico. Very nice indeed, to all a big well done.

Re: 120cm - The Crypt Eternal George, did you find you go a bad surface scum on this tank? I found that every time I've ever used crypts I get an oily scum that no amount of co2/flow tweaking really gets rid of.

Haha, you have no idea how cold that river was. A nyphia would be brilliant it needs that splash of colour that made this tank so magical previously. It's still nice but subtracting the colour and texture has subtracted some of the magic.

Very very impressive, to say anything bad would be a travesty. I felt so inspired by it I ripped down my nuked tank and put on my shorts to see if I could find any rocks in the river.

It's bloody horrible is what it is. So so sorry to here about the tank, mark. I've had gassings twice they ruin your life.

Very nice, though from a scaping point of view that right hand side isn't sitting right for me. Maybe it's the angle? I like it though, especially the understated sand foreground, something I had all but gone off till now.

The basics were someone was saying they want to inject O2 because they'd seen amano's tanks were injecting it. Barr popped up and said something along the lines of "he doesn't inject o2 he just rises the lilly pipe to increase surface agitation".

That means he raises and lowers the lilly pipe. I remember Barr blowing that one up on plantedtank.net back when I started.

Would that be like a co2 monitor that changes the injection rates like how a ph monitor does or is it something even more complex?

Top left rock with the shrimp on, its got 2 dark areas that look like eye brows then a third that looks like a nose. I'd sneak a halloween skull in there, it'd be seasonal that way. :lol:

For a 18x12x12 (lovely tanks to scape, I've had one and have one waiting empty) I'd have a 24 watt 18 would be too little and 36 I found to be too much.

From ebay, it's the 18watt one, I'm considering getting a second one because they're really nice, cheap... but nice.
