    GH+ vs CaCl2

OK, that could be the case, I can not taste any Mg, but Mg does not tase very significantly. I have Mg SO4, but no MgCl2, this should be no bigger difference... so you are using both Ca and Mg to remineralise. In what ratio are you mixing? grams or ml to liters?

    GH+ vs CaCl2

Hi folks. I am using an GH+ from "salty shrimp-beeshrimp minerals GH+", to get higher GH in my shrimp tanks (Crystal red tanks). I tasted the beeshrimp mineral and this is exactly like CaCl2 in my taste. So I had to test the TDS rise from osmosis water with both the GH product AND, also my...

    Increasing GH

Hi again. Tryed to raise Gh this weekend. Slowly raising and testing once every day. GH was at 2 in the start in my three tanks at 100 liter and raised them with: #1, 15ml Ca only, and raised to 5 #2, 15ml Mg only, and raised to 4 #3, 15ml Ca and 15ml Mg. raised to 7. Testkit was new and I...

    Increasing GH

Thanks Witcher, this is probably just what I was looking for. I will try this right away. And the Ca/Mg ratio in my tapwater is 15ppm Ca, and 1ppm Mg, perhaps i can add some more Mg than Calcium due to this H

    Increasing GH

Hi chemists I have this soft tapwater of total hardnes of 2,4 according to the analysis report at my municipas homepage. And also my testkit say 2. (2drops) I want to increase the total hardnes due to see if my crystalshrimps will do better. I would like to aim at around GH5 to see if the...

    ReverseOsmos wastewater

Yeah Darrel. Thats is my new theory. I belive extra gases triggers my BBA outbreak. BBA could benefit from extra oxygen or whatever gases there are in my tapwater. Cheers

    ReverseOsmos wastewater

Thanks zozo, for explaining algea and slowgrowers. And as you say, I am dead set on that my wastewater is containing parameters that triggers BBA. I have earlier noticed that making less or smaller waterchanges is better for BBA, i mean it reduces BBA in my tanks. And therefor iwill make an...

    ReverseOsmos wastewater

Well thanks all for help. I have multiple tanks with different setups, som with CO2 som without, a few smaller and some bigger. I find them all quite good kept, with just a few fish, but mostly shrimps, so the bioload is rather low generally. i use PMDD in some of them, and the tanks stay...

    ReverseOsmos wastewater

Thanks zozo for reply. So an increase of wastewaters ppm´s by x 1,33. OK, thats easy to understand If I make an 50-75% waterchange i will have lots of microbubbles, just as an normal waterchange, but much more, so it looks really oxygenized after, this i suspect is one of the triggers, and...

    ReverseOsmos wastewater

I have really good tapwater here in mid Sweden, soft, and low in NO3, PO4, and so on. But I have this RO filter for my saltwater tank . And I was using the wastewater from the RO filter to make waterchanges in my planted tanks, but there was an issue with this method. I got massive black bush...

    increase GH

I got an package of GH+ home, and it tasted just lika my Cacl2.:) Anyone know what it contains besides Ca and possibly Mg? H.

    increase GH

Hmmm... I began to calculate on how much to dose and this was very complicated numbers when you talk about grams, not to say milligrams. Besides, the weight in small numbers. When meassuring MgSO4 in grams it might contain a lot of extra H2O. can I use a pre mixture of ingredients to use...

    increase GH

Can you explain why i not should use them? ( I have ordered mineral GH+, but not any osmos water.) ----------------------- Yes , bicarbonate is what I call baking powder here in SWE. OK, so it has only to do with KH. If I add 44mg MgSO4 and also 20mg CaCl to one liter water will it race GH...

    increase GH

I have some crystal red PRL´s, but problems with that there is not comming any babyshrimps. I have very soft water, with an GH of less than 2. I have been recommended to increase the GH to an level between 5 and 6. This is all about calcium and magnesium if i dont remember wrong? or is it...
