TMC AquaRay Mini LED 400 Tile Not Working

Just to finish this up, the PSU change did not fix this and the tile has now died completely. Thanks for trying to help guys:thumbup:

TMC AquaRay Mini LED 400 Tile Not Working

Hi Michel, yes I will try another PSU. I'm not the original owner of the tile so that route is closed.

TMC AquaRay Mini LED 400 Tile Not Working

Hi Mort, I'd forgotten I could try without the controller:thumbup:. Just connected it up and there is definitely a tile or PSU issue as it just constantly flashes when connected directly to the PSU, looks like it's one for the scrap heap.:(

TMC AquaRay Mini LED 400 Tile Not Working

So I have an AquaRay Mini LED 400 tile with a two channel controller which I have had for bout 3 years. On Saturday I noticed one the LED's was not working. Yesterday the tile ramped up (minus one LED) but keeps switching off every 30 seconds and going through the ramp up process again in a...

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

Thanks. Once it's trimmed and I've got more time hopefully it will look a bit tidier:)

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

It's going OK thanks. No issues with heat in the hood, in fact the top of the hood feels cooler than when the T8's were fitted but they were fully enclosed. I ran for a couple of weeks with no reflectors at first. The tank is in need of a second large trim since they were fitted. Lack of time...

    TMC Tiles LEDs Out

I take it you don't work in customer service. It's unfortunate if you forgot or have lost your paper work, but you don't "deserve to be out of pocket". You would still expect to get a reasonable life from your product. Lets take TMC out of this, there are lots of companies that will still use a...

A poor comparison. You are also more than aware when you buy those items they will admit some noise which is why most of us don't have boilers in our front room.

    TMC Tiles LEDs Out

How did you pay for your lights? If it was by card or paypal you could get a copy of the transaction? I agree with your point about a manufacturing date or serial number. One of my Eheims had the pump head repaired for free as they could tell it was in warranty even though I'd mislaid the receipt.

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

Went with an Arcadia controller in the end. All fitted and running, the only issue was the controller seemed to kill the digital timer it was connected to. May try a mechanical one tomorrow. The lights have transformed the look of the tank, lets hope it doesn't get transformed with algae. Will...

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

I was going to put the ballast in the hood as things might be more tidy but having priced it all up its cheaper to go with separate controller.

That is another option for me. I already run an Eheim 2078 filter on this so the trickle filter is not being used. Cheers.

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

Thanks again Ian, much appreciated. The plate will be mounted to some stand offs so there will be a gap between the plate and hood. I can probably add some old CPU heat sinks to it and fix with thermal paste. At least I have enough info now to give it a go. Sent from my iPhone using...

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

Thanks for the information Ian. looks like I can go Iquatics or Arcadia then. I have a steel plate to mount the tubes onto. This will then fit onto existing fittings in the hood which has vents in. Would adding holes to the mounting plate improve the ventilation or put more heat stress into...

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

How many tubes did you run? I'm looking at maybe using an external Iquatics controller so the top of the hood would only contain the tubes. I was hoping the current vents in the hood would be enough but maybe not? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Aqua One AR850 - Change to T5 Lighting

Sorry but its another lighting question? I want to change my lighting to something brighter (I'm aware of the pitfalls:)) but I've a limited budget and want to maintain the current hood. I've seen a couple of posts where people have done this (not this forum) but their efforts were not very...

    90cm LED recommendations please.

Do you think you'd need 2? I'm interested as I'm looking to change my Aqua One AR850 70W T8's to something brighter but controllable. I'd only have room for 1 in the current hood though.

    Arcadia T8 LED?

I'm interested in this too AWB. Been looking for a while to replace the lights in my AR850. I don't mind removing the guts of the hood but don't want to butcher it like others have done. I like the idea of dimable LED's for control but I'm not keen on the shimmer. Sorry to Dr Gibbon for taking...

How do you stop plants becoming Leggy ?

Its usually due to poor / low Co2 in the lower regions of the tank. Are you injecting?

    Upgrading to LED

How are you running your tank Tam? If your plants are not growing well the last thing you want to do is upgrade your lighting. You say you are not running CO2, are you still adding ferts and what is your lighting period? What are the symptoms of the plants that are not doing well?

Lights for ADA Mini M - low tech?

    Need help in selecting light

What's the turnover of your filter and how are you dissolving your Co2? You may not have good Co2 distribution at the substrate level.

Bulky two pin plug on 18w light.

Try contacting Aquaone to see if they have a three pin version. I have a few bits of Aquaone stuff and none of it ever came with a two pin plug. Did it come with an adaptor or did you have to by one?
  33. John S

    Anybody got one of these

I got one of these from the same seller that you linked to. The unit you get is a Boyu one that has the rubber protection over the switches and sealed UK plug. Actually I think someone was selling one of these on here recently and had modified it to go on a longer tank?

    18W Light for Arc35 Tank

Thanks Tim. I had a glass set that I got from a member on here that RM smashed in transit. The intake pipe survived but the lily didn't. 18W Light for Arc35 Tank

Thanks Pep and Miranda. I'm injecting CO2 and using EI ferts on this. I'm looking for something that allows me to be flexible. I know that the CO2 and flow etc needs to be right but want something that will give me decent PAR at the substrate.

I have looked at the TMC ones Rob but I'd be looking at second hand as new is a bit out of my price range. Yes I've seen Tims floodlight. I've being trying to think of a way to mount it as I don't want it suspended from the ceiling. If I can suss that I might give it a go. Has anybody used...

4 T5 bulbs in the same space as 2 T8s?

4 T5 bulbs in the same space as 2 T8s?

Without wishing to sound rude have you successfully grown aquatic plants before? If the answer is no I would suggest sticking with your T8's. More light can give you more problems. Lighting help

Thats very high lighting. In the old days 4 watts per gallon would be considered high, you would have just over 7 WPG. Two tubes on would be more than enough so you may want to look at a lower lighting system. The greater the light, the greater the chance you will run into problems.

    Do I need better lights?

I used to run a koralia with my trickle filter. Like you the plants were swaying nicely but I also had similar algae to you which I'm sure was caused by the CO2 being unstable due to the trickle filter. I also had BBA on the sibstrate. As I said, I currently run an Eheim 2078 with the inline...

    Do I need better lights?

Hi, I have the same tank. If you have algae at the moment you don't want to be increasing your light. I run pressurised Co2 and dose Ei at slightly less levels than you. The thing that got my tank pointing in the right direction, it's still far from perfect, was doing away with the trickle...
