    Snail outbreak

More Light = More Algae = More Snails. It really depends on what kind of snails they are, I have Ramshorns in all my tanks as they only eat dead plant matter and algae. Some snails are destructive however, if you want to get rid of them, buy some assassin snails, which will predate upon them.

    Shrimp Food

I like the shrimp lab putty, it's moldable so you can just stick it to hardscape or glassware for the shrimp to find.

    Amano straight away?

Wouldn't risk it, I normally put them in after about 3 weeks and this is with a seeded filter.

Uhm, do Amano shrimp eat other shrimps?

They'll eat anything that is dead/dying in my experience. I've had them team up to go after a weak fish once or twice.

    Bad snail or good snail?

I like them, pound for pound best algae eater in my opinion.

    New bugs and sick fish

I'm in agreement with this, not only does keeping a goldfish in such a small tank cause growth stunting. It is also very hard to keep the water quality high as goldfish are incredibly dirty and produce a lot of ammonia. But as Alto says you must have done really well to keep him alive for 4...

    Tropica system 60

Pearling unfortunately isn't a sign of plant health (other's correct me if I'm wrong) just that they are photosynthesizing, not that they are necessarily getting the required nutrients for healthy growth. My advice would be, if it dies off, replace it with some monte-carlo, it is a far less...

    Tropica system 60

It's incredibly unlikely that Cuba will grow using this system. You will need pressurised co2 to grow it, and without it, it will melt pretty quickly. Try Monte Carlo instead.

What kind of plants are you growing?

    Tropica system 60

Co2 Fire Extinguishers are by far the cheapest in the long run, those little canisters need replacing often.

    Tropica system 60

I used one of these on my first ever tank, was pretty useless and after about a month I replaced it with pressurised co2. I would save your £15 and buy some liquid carbon. If you think your plants need co2 my advice would be to choose different plants. You might be 5-10ppm if you're lucky with...

    Amano shrimp HELP

I lost all my Amanos in my first 60p set up, the second set up I didn't use liquid carbon and no shrimp loss. Entirely anecdotal, but gave me reason enough to consider dosage levels of Glut in the future.

    Amman eating Red Cherry Shrimp...

I've also witnessed hungry Amanos even going after fish, however, this only ever happened with one batch of shrimp, so I wonder if they were actually even true Amanos.
