Always use ferts. GSA is a sign of low phosphates. You shouldn't cause any harm to your fish using ferts. I'd dose macros 'specialised' most days on my tank I probably use Micros 'premium' 2 or 3 times a week, but not directly after using the Macros.

When i've had this problem, I've just increased my macros knowing that will increase phosphates, rather than mixing a new solution.
