Juwel Primo 110 with NovoLux 80 LED lighting

Having thought about it, and looking at them both, I think it would be C. habrosus. I like their daintiness and the patterned markings. C. panda are too close to white for me ;)

Juwel Primo 110 with NovoLux 80 LED lighting

I haven' decided yet they are both lovely. It will be a while yet. I have other things I need to concentrate on ;)

Juwel Primo 110 with NovoLux 80 LED lighting

I think the Borellii are keeping the Endlers in check. I floated some Limnophila sessilis to give them a refuge. But as I have a number of fry now have planted it. Hopefully they'l slow Things down I have kept miniature Cories, but found they didn' really pay any attention to the substrate...

Juwel Primo 110 with NovoLux 80 LED lighting

At the end of February my Juwel Rio 125 had a leak. As it was 11 years old, and I had no confidence in my ability to effect a good repair, I bought a Juwel Primo 110 LED as replacement. I was a little worried that the NovoLux 80 LED (white) lighting, 10 Watts, with 819 Lumens wouldn't be...

    LED advice?

Why not? I swapped all the living room lights to IKEA LEDs - the very definition of cheap, so by your reasoning, not going to get brighter light or save money. However, I can now read at night, something I couldn't do with CFLs, I can also work effectively - I'm an artist, I need good light...

    LED advice?

And that's why I didn't just go out and buy the Juwel T5 light bar ;-) I want LED because of the look and the LONG TERM ENERGY SAVING, I have a low light tank for the same reason. It's all in my first post really ;-) (tablet playing up, can't do italics)

    LED advice?

Have spoken to both Juwel and Arcadia. Arcadia, because their Eco Aqua lamps are just about unobtainable. This is because they are discontinued! But they now make the Classica LED lamp as a retrofit for T8 systems with a magnetic ballast, which looks just the ticket - except Juwel have just...

    LED advice?

Thanks alto, that page makes more sense of trying to fix them in :) - If I can locate some, still haven't found anyone who actually have them in stock :( Have emailed Juwel but no reply :( I'm astonished that there wasn't even a stock reply. I know where I will be spending my money...

    LED advice?

Thanks tiger tim and greenmac. Lowlight is fine, the tank is low tech, and the fish will appreciate it. The plants are mostly low light too. I liked the length of the 'stretch' - at least it is as long as my present lamps. Good to know the fish look good under the stretch, no point in...

    LED advice?

Thanks Supercoley, good point about the unit being a heatsink too. I have LED lighting everywhere in the house and completely forgot about that in my excitement at finding these lights - Doh! Thanks alto, I saw those, but apart from not being able to find the tropical one to buy (one...

    LED advice?

Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted, but still lurking. For a long while now, I've been wanting to change the lighting over my Juwel Rio 125 (2x T8s) over to LED. But I also want to not make the living room look as if a UFO has landed LOL So, for various reasons, I'd like to keep...

    LED Fluorescent replacements?

I'm so sorry to have annoyed you. It wasn't my intention. I asked a serious question and was a little light-hearted. My bad :( Perhaps I should have gone elsewhere to find the answer, but I thought this was the Lighting section of the UKAPS ? Oh well...

    LED Fluorescent replacements?

Are you feeling a little 'dim' today? Sorry Jonno, couldn't resist  Forgot to say, this is for low-tech, planted tanks. TIA

    LED Fluorescent replacements?

    Sylvania Grolux T8

So I need to get energy efficient bulbs from the US ? or do they sell them over here? Will check ebay  Ah now, ain't that the truth. It's true - the FAT always floats :silent:

    Sylvania Grolux T8

Great! So I can use a GroLux with the others and enjoy my fish, knowing that the plants are getting enough light to grow well :D Just have to find the combination I like best :D Regarding the energy efficient lights, I must confess I find them very depressing and dim. OH uses them in...

    Sylvania Grolux T8

Can I ask question about Grolux lights too? I have a choice of T8s for my Juwel Rio 125, 1. Phillips Delux Pro 96 Daylight + Sylvania GroLux 2. Phillips Delux Pro 96 Daylight + Interpet Triplus (I got it at a bargain price ;) ) 3. TriPlus + Sylvania GroLux The GroLux doesn't look...

Cheap HO T5 fluorescent tubes - Update with photos

Thanks for this thread - you've saved me money 8) OK I haven't got T5s I've got T8s - but I still used the info and bought the Phillips Pro 96 and a Grolux to replace my Juwel Tubes - WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I didn't realise my Bleeding heart Tetras (H. Erythrostigma and H. Socolofi) and Blue...

Stick with T8s or go with T6?

Juwel Rio 125 with Juwel filter - don't know if I'm just lucky with the pump but the all the plants in there at the moment are moving "in the breeze" :) so flow can't be too bad, but the filter is kept free of gunk. It's at least as good as the flow from the Fluval 205 that I retired...

Stick with T8s or go with T6?

HI I'm re-doing my Juwel Rio 125 soon and would love to grow some carpeting plants at the front, but hoping to keep low tech - is this possible? I have the T8 bar in the hood and am tryng to decide between T8 fluorescents from lampspecs and T6 from AquaEssentials - huge difference in price but...
