    PTFE tape

    ^^ PTFE still isn't really suitable for that. You'd use threadlok or paste usually. People seem to love PTFE, but it usually causes more harm than good. PTFE tape on compression fittings is a classic :crazy:

    Is this an ok BPM to start with??

    Depending on your diffuser/reactor it's probably on the low side. For 500l I'd expect 2bps or more, but of course fine tune slowly using your drop checker.

    Drop checkers - reaction times

    It looks like there is quite a large amount of air in your drop checker, so this is probably what is causing the longer reaction time.
