yeah, you tend to repot so the tree doesnt become pot bound when the roots grow too big. Of course if you want to put it in a bigger pot becuase the one you have is too small then that is fine too.

should be fine Bob. The only thing you have to watch with Bonsai is that you dont induce reverse osmosis whereby the roots of the tree cant take up water due to having too much ferts. Your idea of every fourth should be fine but also remember that Bonsai only get ferts when they are growing...

i put 15ml per day into my 182l but its fully planted. Your dose will depend on the amount of plants and how much light and co2 you're putting into the tank. Ill try dry powders one day but ive been saying that for the last two years :)
the cat litter will also work in a similar way to akadama as they both have high CEC (great for Bonsai too), just the cat litter is tougher and doesnt crumble as easily. i actually thought the miracle grow tabs were the same as osmocote from the ones ive seen in garden centres.

was speaking to jim at tgm the other week and he mentioned a conversation with tropica that they were trialing using TPN and TPN+ on alternate days and were getting good results.
