I had green water a while ago, I tried a few blackouts only for it to return after a few days. Investing in a UV filter was the best option, left it running for a week or so and the green water never returned. Make sure that you address the cause of the intial green water at the same time too.

Sounds like BBA, you need to improve your co2 addition into the tank. It would be best that in the future you don't introduce algae into the tank knowingly.

Oh didnt notice you were adding ammonia to your tank to cycle it, stop that now! Best to do a water change to remove as much as possible as the rule of thumb is Light + Ammonia = Algae. In planted tanks you don't an ammonia to cycle the tank. It'll mature just using the plants.

Green surface algae shows that you have poor circulation and poor co2. What water are you using in the drop checker? Is it 4dkh? Use paper towels to remove it, put one down and then another half covering as you'll need to catch the film between the two.
