Welcome, this area’s water is pretty hard. More suited to Marine! That said I do use it in my big tank. I use lots of rain water to keep the TDS down.

Your idea sounds good. Aquatic plants grow very well in humid damp conditions. Main problem is usually the humidity going too low. Good luck. T

Great looking little scape. Are you running CO2? Those scapers tanks look great #tempted!
You can poke filter wool between the rocks to stop the substrate leaking onto the sand. Especially important if you get shrimp, they can be rascal for moving stuff. T

This is me on the pirate island of Tortuga but I must have just missed barron von bubba! (I'm the one on the left, happy as a pig in cool sand :D)
