The PFK review seemed a bit mixed. I think they have a future but they need fine tuning a bit in my opinion. Having glitter lines through the water is very appealing but mixing different colours seems problematic and of course they're not going to sell to Joe Public at those kind of prices.

Not much to add, except that I'm guessing emersed grown plants would require less wattage than submersed due to the lack of water allowing more light through. I was searching around yesterday for CO2 bits and bobs and stumbled across a couple of sites that had CO2 equipment for growing...

It's a good point. My tank is 3' and when I used T8 tubes they were something like 30" as there was a few inches all the way round that was darker than the middle, and the edges were where I was planting my higher light stem plants. My new T5's now fill the edges completely, so I'm happy.

A little off-topic, but I'm a bit confused about the whole Hagen, Juwel, Fluval branding. I thought Hagen were the company that made Fluval filters and Juwel tanks. But then I found out that there are also Fluval branded tanks but both come with Hagen/fluval branded stuff. Have I lost the plot?

I use a Daylight Plus and a Triplus - I can't remember who make them. I tried to find the one that had the most lumens, but considering that sort of information is so hard to come by I don't know if I succeeded!

I've got myself an Arcadia twin (2 x 54W) T5 starter unit off ebay, but there's no instructions (unsurprising). Do I have to put both tubes in for it to work or will it work with just one tube? Also, it's 54W - does this mean I have to use 54W tubes or can I use lower wattage tubes with it? Can...
