    bba summary of attack options

a 5 day black out will kill BBA but you need to address all your problems or it'll come back as some as you turn on the lights. you need to do numbers 1,2,8 then 10 once you're black outs complete you need numbers numbers 1,4,5,6 and 7 and clean clean clean. failing all that you don't need...

    BBA and liquid carbon

    Can a substrae cause BBA?

when you disturb the substrate you release ammonia coupled with other issues will case all sorts of algae when the water looks cloudy you need to do a %50 water change
  23. D

    Can a substrae cause BBA?

is it possible you disturbed the substrate moving plant or some thing, then did no do a water change. that's the only way i can see substrate causing algae after a year.

    Algae problems

im not an expert but it does make sense to me. did you add any extra fish
  25. D

    Algae problems

if you cleaned all your substrate and bind half you filter media it might be a bit like resetting the tank, so new tank syndrome is possible.
  26. D

    Algae problems

have you over cleaned your filterer. or disturbed your substrate moving plants or some thing. both of theses could cause the problem getting fish that eat the algae will just mask the problem not fix it.

    BBA returns with a vengance

your co2 needs to be on longer mate 3 hours before lights off is to early try 1 hours its causing insatiability. also a black out wont affect bba you need to remove it or spot does with your easycarb. just till you've solved you problem only having one light tube one would help you out.
