While we’re on the subject of salt can anyone debunk a myth that’s been around years
Is the anti cacking agent used in table salt bad for fish or is it just complete rubbish ?
For instance a well known brand sells “aquarium salt” which is sea salt, but it flows freely too

Hannah and lots of other manufacturers do low level salt meters
They vary in price greatly from cheaper imports at less than £20 upto very expensive ones over £500 so was looking for recommendations

Hi Clever People
I’ve got some Ranchu goldfish coming and I need to measure the salt levels to keep it at 0.3% for the duration of the 4 week quarantine period. The easiest would be with a salt / salinity meter
Can anyone recommend a brand or model ?

Are you planning on using a separate aquarium for breeding?
Cold water is the key to prompting Corydoras once you’ve conditioned them with live foods
A bare tank is best as they scatter the eggs over the glass
Pure RO is not good for this

As part of what I do I have to keep records of water quality [emoji30] yep I know a waste of time and s ball ache but I’ve got a hanna pen and its needs recalibrating
So I went into the hanna website and omg what a price for 20ml sachets

If you’re worried spread them out on baking sheets and pop them in the oven 200 will kill off anything plus dry them out

Leaves are ok half rotten or not
They only breakdown and rot in the aquarium anyway
Make sure that they won’t of been sprayed with any pesticides
If in doubt buy almond leaves
Leaves are used to leach tannins, lower ph etc
